1JZ S13 - Custom ZF5 Trans Mount and Driveshaft + Short Shifter

- Tonight we install our custom made trans mount from @ERfabrication with some solid RevShift bushings! We also got my new one piece, custom driveshaft bolted up with my new 4.1 ratio diff and the @DriftHQ Solid Guibo Adapter to our ZF5. And lastly, we install the PMC chassis mount short shifter with our Garagistic DSSR and boy does it feel AWESOME!

Almost done with my ZF in my JZ car! Love the direct mount shifter also! I’m going to nerd out doing the same thing.

Hey man ive been watching your videos involving the zf swap because im doing the same thing. Zf 6 speed 1j s13! Just had a few questions, how do you like the 4.01 diff and would you change to something lower geared now that you've driven it a few times? I also need a trans mount made, any way those dudes bikerskater or erfab still make them?
I actually only had the 4.1 in it for a few street drives. I swapped to a q45 diff with a 3.5 ratio and z33 axles. It feels great! If anything, I’d be curious to try like a 3.7. That might be the sweet spot for 3rd gear.
And yeah he does but he’s actually competing prospec this year so he’s been super busy.
I need that trans mount/crossmember.

Where did you get adapter between propshaft and gearbox. I used rubber coupler but i need that aluminum piece
They call it a Guibo Adapter and I bought it from drifthq.com

Do you get any sort of vibration mid & high mph with that drivetrain setup?
Yeah actually. I get a weird chattering/vibration in 3rd, 4th or 5th in low RPM range. If I’m at the correct and high enough RPM though, it doesn’t do it. My teammate with the same drivetrain setup gets the same noises haha. I’m thinking adapter plate related in some way, but not sure.
@@behradsays strange.. I’m getting low frequency vibes after 40mph any gear. 80-90mph it’s a knarly vibration..
How do you make sure driveshaft is balanced
The shop that built it made sure, but I’m pretty sure they basically spin it and add weights to balance it, like a wheel.

solid mounted = gearbox destroyer
I’ve got around 50 track days on this setup so far, no issues! Stock 1jz power still, so I’m sure that helps. But, I do want to maybe switch to a rubber guibo to help with vibration in the chassis.
@@behradsays well it was 1 of reason why people destroy so many sr20 boxes in s14x as they were solid mounted no rubber, rubber is good to have :-)
