    You can also lock the rear diff in 4 high. You need to have the vehicle in 4H, press the traction control button once and then hold for 5 seconds to disengage stabilitrac, hit off road+ and then it will allow you to lock rear! I know its a bit of a process but sometimes you need 4H and rear lockers on. Hope this helps

      What does traction control do and when it switches off in 4LO how does this affect the mobility of the vehicle?

    • @evorm7329
      @evorm7329 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@vikasverma7667 traction control prevents wheels from spinning freely, so keeps you from slipping, drifting, or damaging your tires and gives you more traction which gives your wheels more control on the road. however sometimes (especially when you go off road) your wheels will naturally spin unevenly at least a little depending on the surface you drive on and the shape of the path youre on. youll want your car to be able to slip a little to let the wheels grab as much as they can in low traction conditions, which can make the traction control on a car get confused and think youre drifting or unsafe. on places with high traction like roads, leave it on if you dont know the physics of your car and itll give you more control. on places with low traction conditions and less sticky wheels on paths keep it off cause itll get in the way.

      Always engage 4 wheel drive before you “need it”
      4high is for higher speeds when driving in mud or snow or on trails where you may experience mild obstacles like small rocks or steep inclines but when you want to drive around 15-30 mph
      4low for when you’re going into thick mud or snow or when your going up a very very steep incline off road or when you have larger obstacles to crawl over.
      But don’t wait until you’re stuck to engage it. Asses the situation and choose the appropriate 4wheel drive selections prior to getting in the thick of it.
      Hope that helps.

    Hi Joulian, thank you for making this excellent video; I have never owned a 4x4 but decided to get one yesterday. I am so afraid of doing things wrong. So when I try to put the stick down from 2H to 4H, it's really stiff and I am afraid i may break something. Do i just pull it down hard or do I need to press any additional button? I tried it both in Drive and Park but the stick is pretty stiff and didn't want to budge much (I could probably pull harder but I figure I'll ask you first).

      Pull it a little harder and itll slide down into 4h! The first time engaging is always the hardest. Dont worry about breaking it, the only time the transmission needs to be in neutral is if you're trying to go down to 4lo

How do I go to on road mode from off road. Again not sure how it got there. I don’t go off-roading. Also when o click my off road pages it doesn’t find or display them

    Sooo do you want ur axles locked when ur on 4 wheel drive. When do you and lock the differentials and when do you simply just wanna be in 4 wheel drive

    • @gs-nt6nf
      @gs-nt6nf Před 2 lety

      Lockers help on uneven terrain. For example when only one front or rear wheel has traction. In that situation the sway bar disconnect also helps. If tractors good then you don’t need lockers on. More maneuverable without lockers. Remember the differential transmission sends power to the wheel without traction. Lockers take the differential transmission offline so you get the traction going to all the wheels and the wheel that has traction to get you over the uneven terrain. I am not an expert though. Jeep has a good video or two that shows how lockers work and when needed. The caveat is remember that caution needed when using lockers because all that power going to one wheel could stress it out and break something if you hit the gas too hard.

      no. atrac uses controlled braking as a supplement for lack of lockers. atrac is more of a computerized approach while lockers like the jeeps are mechanical

    So you mentioned how the swaybar disconnect sometimes wont engage, then demonstrated it not engaging fully, then cancelled it. How do you get it to engage properly?

    • @jouliangomez2816
      @jouliangomez2816  Před 3 lety

      It wont fully engage if the front two axles arent on even, level ground. Otherwise it will always engage. If its flashing one way to push it along is to inch forward in drive before it fully engages to try and get the wheels to be level

    DRIVING IN MUD IN D will get you stuck as its so simple.. D is Auto.. The Roc Trac Not Mud Trac Will seek Traction and halt in D In Deep Mud and will automatically adjust slowing you down to almost a halt getting you stuck.. Use M in Mud 4 L..4th gear and go.
