  • Best Sandable primer at $45 I’ve used is the Benjamin Moore Fast Sanding Primer (507). Watch the comparisons to some priced at twice the cost. BIN, Sherwin Williams, Zinsser.

I use Zinsser's Bull'sEye or Bull'sEye2 water-based (which is for interior or exterior) primer, NOT the BullEye's 1.2.3. The can will say easy to sand on the front. They both sand really nice. Covers nice. Comes off like a fine powder. Dries in about hour or less. $20-$25 per gal. No clogging. I sometimes do two quick coats then sand back flat, if needed or the if job requires an ultra fine finish then I prime a 3rd coat and sand before painting. Priming is key to a fine finish and its cheaper than paint.

Have you ever tried the hi-build automotive primer?

I owned a body shop for 24 years so yes. My videos now are for the DIY community not for the professional community. Most people don’t have a place to apply auto body materials because of the smell and the waist that comes from trying to get rid of that product.

@@hifiside5066 cool, good to know... so in your opinion this is probably the easiest way to produce good results, I'll have to give it a try👍
