    I have the Esse 4hm and I love it. It is on my belt daily as my edc fixed blade. I forget it is there. It is comfortable and takes a great edge holds it for a few hours of work and is easily back to a razor sharpness in 2 minutes on the ceramic rod and strop. I looked for years and tried various knives from buck and others. The esse 4hm is the best to carry and use at least for me. The handle fits my xl gloved hand well.

      Shelley Raskin when the DC6 was first proposed I loved it. This final designs is a tough as nails knife but dosnt have the below centerline point or the spin wide index finger guard. It's like using a boat paddle to carve with. Like I said it's a tough knife with a decent handle but I wish I held it before I purchased it 2 years ago.

      The DC6 version was scrapped because Dave got hooked up with Mora so ESEE went a different direction with his initial Camplore design, making it into the ESEE 6 HM "Handle Modified ". The DC6 was a far superior design in my opinion.

    • @eddiemason4316
      @eddiemason4316 Před 5 lety +3

      GLB Woodsbum 256 The DC 6 had tad bit more drop to the point and a thick finger "guard " where blade came to rest on index finger as opposed to what the 6HM offers. Also 6HM comes with a black coating. There's a old shot show vid out there on the camplore series when it was in the works, compare it to what is in production now and you'll see what I mean. 6HM is a good stout knife but not suited for me.

    I picked up an esee 4 at Smoky Mountain Knife Works earlier this year. I really like it, the only reason I got the four instead of the six is that the police in my area have the discretion of deciding if your knife is a threat or not. They don't get as upset about a four inch knife as they do a 6 inch. It is not wise to poke the bear.

      I have both and I can tell you that you can't go wrong with either knife. However, they are two completely different tools. The bk7 can chop better and feels better in the hand. The Esee 6HM, because of its round narrow handle, tends to want to spin in hand during hard usage which requires more grip strength to maintain the knife in hand while the bk7 seems to lock in nicely.
