  • Hi there everyone! This song was suggested by ‪@djjd2011‬
Probably the one of the best background bands to ever have been hired!
Thanks for the great suggestion djjd!

I agree. I might like Joni a bit more than Dave, but his point is well taken. I think Jaco elevates that song to another level.

I think the word you're looking for is VERVE. It was a fabulous collaboration and I love that entire concert film. People had advised Joni to play with jazz musicians in part bcz her style was so unique.

Not a huge Joni Mitchell fan, but I could listen to these guys play their instruments all day. Great stuff. Nice suggestion and reaction. Thanks guys.

How could anyone not like and respect this collection of greatness on that stage? I probably like Joni a bit more than Dave and there ain’t nothing wrong with dat. Love this video, great choice djjd2011. Thanks Dave & Shecky. ✌️

You should watch the rest of this concert. So, she's written this music, and she's singing, but they are "way better" than her? So skills with instruments are the only thing you care about when it comes to music, not composition, not voice? And you seem to have her pigeon-holed as a folkie when by '79 she'd left folk way behind. After this she was playing with Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, and Brian Blades, and Charles Mingus reached out to her before his death to collaborate. The work with Mingus is a mixed bag, but were they all misguided about her?

That's why there's only 14 comments here. Someone here isn't seeing the big picture.

Love Joni Mitchell, esp early period and Blue Album is classic. Hard to beat that backing band too. Really good pick! Here's another for Dave to sample from the New Winery Dogs Album. This one has some nice fuzzy psychedelic guitar and great drumming. It's The tune, "we are one". Here's the studio version. czcams.com/video/fpP5NxJWMU4/video.html There are some live videos of the tune on youtube but audio is not the best
