😂 I have had 4 JRTs in my lifetime. They are easily the most entertaining, charismatic, energetic, smart, characters in the dog world. They never lose their zest no matter how old they get. I’m laughing just thinking of their shenanigans. Brave and loyal to a fault. I love this breed.

Deevo037 Which is what makes these types of activities great for them. Their high prey drive and high energy level make them perfect for this kind of sport ( there is also lure coursing as well )

My Jack loved to track and chase deer. He hated them. I took him hunting with me and he would track deer that we shot and could not find. He always found them. He lived to be almost fifteen years old. I still miss him.

I Love this, especially the TOTAL CAOS in the area just past the finish. Getting them into the starting "box" is fun too and no need to get then amped up they are nuclear READY. Jack Russell TERRORS

I think this is brilliant. Dogs love it, owners love it, dogs are not getting harmed and padding everywhere. Whats not to like,,,, Is it cruel,,,,NOPE. Dogs are not getting stressed in the box's as they are not in there long enough,

We race terriers without muzzles in the UK. The muzzles are probably just to stop them grabbing the lure and not letting go.

It would be awesome if they had this for all breeds. My Belgian Malinois is very high energy and has a high prey drive so he would be fantastic at this!

Mikayla, Belgian Malinois compete in the dock diving and Fetch-It! competitions at the Incredible Dog Challenge. Unfortunately, this event is only open to Jack Russell Terriers. You may want to see if you have a local sight hound group that does lure coursing. This is a similar event where dogs chase a lure around an open field.

Why do they cut the tails off ratties?

From what I heard, traditionally it was to prevent them from breaking their tails when running full speed after prey into holes. If the dog held its tail up at the wrong moment it could end up with a lot of damage.
Fairly sure now it's just breed standard, but don't quote me.
