    Just got mine, I took the quartz over the automatic, since this will be my everyday watch for office I think it looks great and is not expensive at all

    I like Tissot, I have the PRX. If I had the spare cash I would get the Gentleman too, such a classic look. Thanks for the video 🙂

      Hey Nick. The PRX looks like such a great watch. I haven’t seen one in person yet. Hope to soon. Thanks for watching.

    Nice watch indeed!
    ETA heavy drive? Sounds really cool.
    I always worry about inadvertently hitting my watches, so this feature comes in very handy!
    I have a mechanical tissot from
    The mid-90’s. I love how Tissot is a quality yet affordable Swiss brand!
    Thanks for the video!

      Hello LIS. A think Tissot is one of the few Swiss made watches that still target the entry level buyer. They’re a good watch, IMO. Thanks for watching.

    Great show Eric, very informative and I love a good GADA watch for example the Dresskx, if you like this I suggest checking one of them out.

    I know I'm late to the party here since this video is a year old now and I appreciate you taking the time for this review but I have the sector dial version of the quartz Tissot gentleman (it has two lines on the dial but otherwise it's exactly the same) - had it for over a year and the LUG to LUG distance sucks - and I also have a 7 inch wrist and it hangs off on both sides. If it had a shorter lug to lug the 40mm case size would be far more doable. It wears terrible unless you have 7.5 inch wrist or above. And frankly the small details that go into an automatic version of a watch are often left out on the quartz and that's true of this watch as well. You will not stay in love with this watch. Save your money and get something else - quartz or not. Tissot Gentleman quartz is a big fat dud and not worth spending the money just for the privilege of wearing a so called "swiss" watch.

    Sold my prx quartz and waiting for the gentleman blue dial to arrive tomorrow.
    I like the PRX but it was too “trendy” looking for my lifestyle.
    Tissot is the best value swiss watch.

      Hello normang663. I completely understand being turned off by the trendiness. What I like about Tissot is they are one of the few brands out there still making entry level Swiss watches. Enjoy your watch. 👍👍

    10:57 that is why you get a Casio Oceanus T200 instead of this, around the same price ;)

    Useful review. This is a 'nice' watch to be sure, but to me it doesn't have as much character as some similar Seiko and Citizen models at a lower price point. Like the Citizen Corso you reviewed recently for example. With the Corso, the concave case where it integrates with the bracelet immediately catches the eye and adds a touch of uniqueness. Looks like an unusually good strap for an entry-level Tissot though. Not a fan of the quite prominent and extended second hand, my Heritage Visodate has this feature and it looks odd on a large(ish) plain dial in my opinion. It seems to exaggerate the second 'jumps' like an office wall clock.
    I understand that the Gentleman is meant to be a versatile and inoffensive model that can be all things to all people, but a bit vanilla for my tastes as a result. Good value for money relative to comparable dress/everyday watches from other Swiss brands and it will no doubt be a solid and reliable piece. I just think a touch more imagination in terms of design would have lifted the watch and made it stand out from the crowd a little more. Depends what you are looking for I suppose, for some people this watch will be just right.

      Hello Paul C. I agree, that citizen Corso really appealed to me as well. The overall design on that watch was fantastic. you make a good point about this watch trying to be inoffensive, and may be a little too bland. Here I think the draw is its a Swiss made watch and the sapphire crystal. But design wise, I do think the citizen has it beat.

      @@EricsEverydayWatches Glad you agree. I think sometimes we need to put the 'Swiss factor' aside and concentrate on the watch itself. If you are buying a watch mainly because it is Swiss then you are missing out on some equally good, often cheaper and arguably more interesting watches from a design perspective. Tissot is a trusty brand, but 'Swiss Made' and the kudos that goes with it would not make me choose one over a Seiko or Citizen. All are good at what they do.

    Too big! 37 mm would have been better

    • @EricsEverydayWatches
      @EricsEverydayWatches  Před rokem +3

      Hello Shemrun. Slightly smaller would have been more traditional for a dress watch, that’s for sure. I think 40mm is a size which might hit that middle ground for a lot of people. (Some wanting larger and others smaller). Just my opinion. Thanks for watching.

      only if you have a small wrist. I have a 37 MM watch and it looks awkward on my wrist. Looks almost like a womans watch

      @johnfadds6089 Před 11 měsíci +2

      37 mm is for dress watches nowadays. This is a so called "sporty design".
