Life in General is the MXPX album to start with.
The Ever Passing Moment was really a defining moment in my opinion. The mix and production of that record was phenomenal. Just a clean, solid record start to finish.

those are the three best, in any order. Those three stand head and shoulders at the top and is probably the best three album run in punk rock history.
The original version of Let It Happen was a sick record. That's what I'd tell someone to start with. Then Buffalo
the two albums by anyone i've rebought the most are slowly going the way and life in general.
"the wonder years" on life in general is the first punk song i ever heard, i was 11 and it made me want to learn guitar.
to someone starting out on mxpx, i'd suggest the new one "find a way home" or "ever passing moment".
Life in General, Let it Happen, and Teenage Politics are all top notch

Slowly Going the way... is one of the best pop punk albums of all time for sure. If you can put a record on from beginning to end without ever feeling the need to skip a track. That's something pretty fcking special. Life in General is also a classic. But Slowly is definitely the cream of the crop... FYI, The Ever Passing Moment was the last MXPX album i was really into. so everything after that is a mystery to my ears

Agreed. I used to hate that album. But I revisited it a few years after it had already been out, and I fell in love with it. The story, kicking and screaming, the weekend, just an all around incredible album.
Before Everything and After is my most listened to!
Pokinatcha punx was a big record for me in my youth. I loved it. Listened to their 1st 3 records, nothing after that but MxPx Pokinatcha was my hands down.
I also want to say, their old label mates from the 90s "Strongarm" were insaneltly great. "Advent of a miracle" for me is still in my top 5 hardcore (90s hardcore, not 80s) albums of all time.
Slowly, and passing moment are my favorite two.

I still love Teenage Politics. But Life in General, Slowly, and Ever Passing Moment is gold standard.
Man, I think you can really start with any record. Today I'd tell anyone to start with MxPX (2018). But I got into them as a kid, first album I heard was Before Everything and After - definitely their most "overproduced" album for lack of a better term. I wonder what Mike thinks of that one now? But regardless of the production, the songwriting was fantastic and I still blast that album in my car quite often.

Gotta say that everything from teenage politics to the everpassing moment are the best, but life in general is my go to. Nothing, in my opinion, will ever top that album. Front to back. I’m also biased because I learned to play guitar from that album and slowly going the way.
Honestly, the only album I don’t rock out to play s before everything and after. Just felt way to mainstream for me. Although, in such a fanboy, I can still sing every word front to back from that album. 😂
