Make a lure completely out of super glue and baking soda!
Great idea
Yes... Please.....
Didnt he already say that its imposible and he wont waste his time for it.
Great Idea Bro!
Gotta be done
4th! We need a pink fleshy soft plastic human swim bait in 2021! Let's make it O-FISH-AL!
Human finger, perfect for Halloween fishing!
@@AaronChmelik... he made one last year. But it was cool!!
@@gregbudig5014 Holy hell, he did! I'm going to watch that now.....
A soft plastic human with the feet as dual paddle tails and arms and appendages
Great idea!
I think marlin baits should teach a high school class or college class of bait making 🤷🏼♂️professor marling
I second that
It’s called wood shop. And I’d take that class if he taught it
I’ve been watching marlin for about 2 1/2 years and I had no idea his baits sold out that fast and for that much! THATS AWESOME MAN congrats. $1500 off 3 baits and videos only been up 3 hours! Hard work pays off! Also probably the best shad paint job I’ve ever seen
Lol I checked 2 hours after the video posted and they were sold out.. dudes talented
@@turner427 Where does he sell the baits?
@@noahcook6762 linked in the description
Like the anticipation of Christmas eve as a child; That Was My Last 3 Weeks!!!
I feel like a dope head, finally getting his Fix!
And...... New Camera! Wow!
Super fine HD!
Plus the zoom and Focus! Looking Good!
LONG LIVE THE KING OF LURE MAKIN! LONG LIVE MARLING!
&
Red White and Blue, Darter Minnow!
Darter Minnows are cool!
love how excited he got thinking it was a musky, been watch for 4 years and all i want for this man is to catch a musky 😢😂 got me so hype
I watch all the time and never seen a Muskie have u seen him catch one before? If so send me a video
Personal question... are you the same Nathan James Marling from Cedar Rapids who saved a small child from drowning when you were 18? I'm thinking so... anyway, way to be a hero!!
Take care!!
Respect for this guy grows for thw minute
wow did not know that but I could see him to be the guy who helps and doesn't just sit there and watch Marlin hip hip hurray Hip Hip Hurray HIP HIP HURRAY
I’ve been patiently waiting for a new video to propose a suggestion for a crazy bait idea. In honor of Halloween, a weedless human finger bait. Weedless, because it would look extra gruesome for the hook to be deeply embedded in the finger. Bass like human fingers!

@@Notorious_Nate awww man... Here I was thinking I had an original thought for once...
@@sswwooppee yeah he already did that but his friend made it
Just worked from 7am to 12 at midnight It's been so long, glad to be back, I dont know why I stopped watching a year ago but I'm binging them now, nice to see what you've been up to! I'll watch the rest tomorrow!
I have started to make my own baiting because of your videos! I just wanted to say thank you! My wife on the other hand, says I have too many hobbies.
Hearing jordan peterson in the background during gill carving cracked me up😂
Haha, I immediately jumped to the comments after hearing Jordan Peterson. Literally have the video on pause right now. Curious to see how the comment section reacts lol
Like
I was curious if anyone else heard Jordan Peterson.
Outstanding that you were listening to JP.
@@laynhate6112 Me too!!!! hahaha
The low cut beard looks great Brother! 💪 Expert work as always! God bless you and the family buddy!
Oh the sweet sound of Prof. JP in the background. Love it.
I enjoyed the random Splitting Maul review! And the baits!
I love the shift from lure making to splitting maul (I know I most likely spelt it wrong) footage. You always throw a curve ball at us, good curve balls that is.
Watched the video only seven hours after posting and all 3 are sold, good job sir.
Just got the notification during coffee break. Can't wait to watch after my shift!
Great looking baits and the new camera looks great
How hasn’t Nat Geo offered you a show yet? This guy is a young bob ross of this. Hit me up id love to represent you I’m a PR guy. With writers and production, forget it, you’ll kill it. A true craftsman. Can’t let those flies disturb your work!!! Golden
I gotta say by far you have got to be the most artistic person I’ve seen videos on ever still been watching for over year so far and still as interesting as the first one I saw.thx for the entertainment and the much needed drive to attempt any crafty ideas that come to my table in life and always fun to watch you growing in technique and life keep it up and maybe we will randomly cross paths fishing one day . Have a great one and thx again
These are gorgeous. I can't imagine fishing with something that is more like art than fishing gear. I lose way, WAY too many lures to risk something like that. To quote Indiana Jones "That belongs in a museum!"
Great new close-ups with that camera! NO BOO-BOOS!
That Chub lure looks amazing!!!
The fly shots juxtaposed with Jordan Petersen in the background make this one of the more eclectic bait making videos around.
Lol
The video style in the first half reminds me of your really old videos. Love it
The moment montage at the end of this video was pure class!
They all look so beautiful
All of them are gorgeous
“It’s ready for sealing I’ll probably sand It for 20 more minutes, but it’s ready for sealing”😆
I'm so happy I got my fix! Thanks Nate great video
I heard some Appalachia don in the background! Love it!!!
Excited for the video with Rob Terkla.
Baby Wiper lure pls! I love this channel!
I loved the mulberry splitting intermission. We took down a dead mulberry a couple years ago and I split it all with a maul. Now it's perfectly seasoned, kept covered and dry, and it is awesome in the smoker (great choice for flavor!) and the fireplace (blue flames and fun fireworks sometimes lol).
no video could make me happier right now. marling baits is by far my #1 choice fav channel and has been for a long time now
That Jordan Peterson in the background certainly wasn't expected, but it definitely upped my respect. The man is a genius, love his lectures
I still can’t understand you not having a million subs. This content is awesome.
WOW ! Love that pike!!
Always love the videos Man, The piano music made it even better!
Thank the lord your ok.. it's been way too long since I've gotten an upload notification from you. So looking forward to this video.
Your lures are to beautiful to use ☺️👍👌
Great bait build, Marlin!
Nice video! Love the splitting Mall demonstration. I do prefer mine dull though. Epic fishing! Those are some pretty amazing paint jobs.
That creek chub is sweet!
Love seeing your creations and putting them to work👏👍
Hey man, thanks for inspiring me to start a CZcams channel, love watching you!
JRP in the background! Yes!
Beautiful lures as Usual!
Your getting better and better with each bait. Your the only content creator that I will watch to the last second because of the awesome outtakes
while waiting on uploads i watch older videos you’ve come a long ways in your baitmaking and video skills. pat yourself on the back for me man you’re doing great 👍
Make some baits out of the old splitting maul handle that "wood" be cool lol
I’m so happy you sold those for 500. 👏 awesome work dude
I have missed 4 videos due to Covid.. I feel so behind. Time to catch up!! thanks for the great work you do!
Phenomenal video. I absolutely loved seeing all the work that went into these. Also the new camera makes for some amazing close up shots.
Amazed by your skill man. Keep up the awesome work!
Nice, paint jobs are awesome
Really love the pike!
please do a giant snakehead pencil lure, they have beautiful iridescent colors in mating season and it would make a great bait
perhaps, another range of oversized spybaits, Sir... with these realistic color patterns 😍🤘🏾
Just getting back into fishing after a 20ish year hiatus and wanted to say thanks for doing these videos. You have great insights and a whacked sense of humor which I appreciate. :) Looking forward to many more from ya sir!
The soft plastic human bait sounds like the best idea 🦦
I was waiting for you to post but was at work and missed it, finally watching it and this is awesome, worth the wait
I enjoyed your kayak montage music choice today.
Saw this video pop up and said “ yes! This is what I need “ thanks for all you do! ❤️🎣
20:17 I thought this was a chain pickerel at first!
Starting the popcorn right now!
Always so excited for your videos, Nate!
Was missing the content! Thank you!
The way you say the superglue baking sodas get better every video 😆 🤣
I sure wish we had Marling videos twice a week! Great stuff as usual!
Yesssirrrr
Another awesome video with some more spiffy baits and awesome fish ! Nice job sir👍🏼
Love how it's made official that fish like the bait Thanks Nate for taking the time
Hmmm...I have been trying to figure out how to fish the bay in the town I recently moved to...lots of trout and salmon here, but most of my fishing experience is river fishing where anything over 5' is "deep". The peer in the bay is around 30-60' deep. Typically, I use weight + worms just off bottom, or a big 'ol spoon. One of these huge spinners with a ton of weight in the belly will allow me to cast it way out there, and then drag it slowly 5-10' off bottom. Everyone uses spoons, and the area is heavily fished...something new might give me a leg up out there. Most of the rivers here are closed until next year, but the bay and river mouth are open all year.
these would be pretty big for most trout and salmon speices id think
@@Flarexxxx I dunno about that...20+lb salmon and trout (rainbow/lake/brown) are common. When trolling we use 4" Lyman exclusively. And I typically use a 3-4" spoon. River fishing is a different game (can use small baits more successfully in the river). I've been catching a ton of trout and a few salmon, not really looking for advice, but it's appreciated nonetheless. We'll get "jacks" under 10lbs on the 4" Lyman. I no longer have access to a boat and have to fish from shore now though...and it's a little different game...everyone else throws spoons. So do I. I want to try something different. There are tons of anglers down there every day. The fish see a ton of spoons. I also have luck with worms and marshmellow to keep it off the bottom. Essentially the trick is you want to keep the bait near the bottom for the maximum amount of time so you aren't casting a million times and essentially covering no water. Most setups keep your lure down there for about 20 feet or so, if you are lucky and good at counting down your bait drop. Light line and heavy lures with a slow retrieve.
Use a sabiki to catch live bait. Then free-line the live bait. Or use gotcha plugs.
@@AaronHendu oh yeah if there getting that big for sure these would work, not use to large salmon as where i am we only have Atlantic salmon and there quite rare and are considered endangered due to decades of over harvesting and habitat loss, but good news is through regulations and multiple projects and associations uniting including the provincial liquor stores association thats dedicated to habitat restoration and protecting, the population is om the rise
@@whiskerfisher2469 I already use live bait...not much luck using live as all you catch is goby, and they are illegal to use as bait anyway as they are invasive. You saying a Got-cha plug will run 30-50' feet deep from a shore line cast? Interested...but not sure they will do what I need. Similar to a Lyman, I am sure they work, just not entirely sure if they will work for what I am doing. These are freshwater trout and salmon I am talking about...none of them touch saltwater in their entire lives...landlocked, all of 'em.
Lovin the shop fly.
Also Always good to see CHIP!
i love when he tests the lures!!
Can you show us your new camera?
How about a musical instrument lure? I remember you saying that you played piano; would a piano lure be to hard?
Loving your videos; my first one was the gnarly bluegill lure you made; I was crazed that it was even possible to make something that good!☺️
Lol, did you see how fast those 3 baits sold out? Man, I’d like to get my hands on one of those.
You should do drawing, where you pay to enter, and 3 random people get 3 baits.
7:06 “Most people measure twice for some reason”😊
8:37 Will this screw eye break? (*tool breaks*)
2:04 “these are going to be fancy”
2:10 nah... “just carved gills” everything else? Just add more paint.
Just what my morning needed😎
Can't wait till you drop the knowledge on LUNKERS!
This man is out here making $2k worth of baits in one video hard work, talent, and dedication pays off I'd love to be as talented as Marling one of these days.👌
big fan of the marling's post reviews
Dude this was the best video. Having the splitting maul interruption was fun. You make some amazing stuff can’t wait to get my hands on one of your baits. And some epic molds!!
“There’s probably a picture of it right now. Isn’t that beautiful?”
The comedic value of him leaving that bit in was so good.
The shop fly was the star of the show!
gorgeous baits and an absolutely stunning video. Nicely done, bro!
sweet work my friend!!
Another great video! Highlight of my day!
That's a nice disc sander!
Hi Marlin. My grandfather passed away this evening and I want to thank you for this video. It really helped me get away from things. Thanks Marlin😊
Pro tip when splitting logs always stand with both feet Outside of the log Just trying to save your leg And foot Keep it coming love the videos fun facts are a winner
Heya love the video's firstly, been watching for a long time, and you have hands down one of my favorite channels. Just a heads up though for a majority of the video you audio balance is to the left and it sounds like you might be peaking here and there. You mentioned to were using a new camera so maybe it's just a settings issue, but I just thought I would let you know. Anyways keep at it bro! Always happy to see a new upload from ya!
I cannot believe you are the only one to mention this. Marlin baits viewers must be watching on TVs.
Fantastic job as always. Awesome picture quality with the new camera!
Wicked work. Once the snow is on the ground here I will be back hacking away at more lures as well. Cheers from the soon frozen Canadian lads
wait is canada not yet frozen? Nunavut should be, but again, its nunavut
Not quite that far up.
Did wake up to snow this morning though. Will be doing some carving soon enough.
@@GettenanyOutdoorsSportspal nice, its been snowing here in northern norway, where i am for about 3 weeks now
Cool that you got your splitting ax sharp but I believe they split better when they are a little dull.
always a good day when Marling Baits posts.
I think you need a big pike/musky glider with those fins that make it go wider when you pull it, paint it in a classic firetiger color, add some rattles to the bait and catch some mean toothy critters, tight lines!
Always happy to see another video from you! Quality baits as always
beautiful work as always mate
Nice work!!!
Dude, the bass gods have placed a magnet on you for sure!
I feel like that’s all I see hahaha
I always look forward to the days you post!
