Yeah, and Twizzlers just ruined it.
Twizzlers brought me here as well: I had to prove that the original was actually awesome, and not some annoying marketing jingle.
Yep, just going down a LB wormhole here!

Sirius XM 80s on 8 reminded me of this...
The song is so closely associated with the movie that what might get overlooked is that it’s a really good and interesting pop tune, showcasing Buckingham’s unique 80s “Post New Wave meets The Beach Boys” style. He really had his own sound, which also sometimes got diluted by the collaborative nature of Fleetwood Mac.
Not diluted;; corrupted.
@@MikeyParks Nonsense talk
Yeah diluted eh? Like this song was him at his peak?
@@StephenJohnson-jb7xe Diluted: to make or become less concentrated. Meaning, in Fleetwood Mac it wasn’t just his material. There were three singer/songwriters in the band, not to mention the creative input of drummer and bassist. It wasn’t all his own vision. It was shared.

That dog barking along to the beat at the end has always been HILARIOUS to me.
I’m glad that a man that always took himself so serious as an artist did this song
In 2017, I packed my wife and two kids, 5 and 3, into a minivan and drove from Halifax, Canada to Miami, Florida and back again in two and a half weeks. We drove, lived and slept in the minivan. On the last day - the home stretch - this song came on the radio. It was unreal. What are the chances? In fact, I've never heard it on the radio before or since. It was my Clarke Griswold moment.
That must've been a helluva drive! I hope you all had an amazing trip 🥰
And did Aunt Edna survive ???

Lindsey Buckingham is one of the geniuses of his era that doesn't get enough recognition. People that knew Fleetwood Mac know of his skills, but the larger music community rarely talks about him.
I thought he looked familiar, but had no idea that was him. Wow! 😅
But those of us who love good music and art do appreciate Mr. Buckingham's art and consider him a genius! 🎸🎙️👌
He is underrated for sure. I say this every day
Never put the two and two together but now I see it or heard it

This song brings me right back to my childhood!!! I was a kid in the 80s and imo the best decade to be a kid!!!! Back in the 80s summer vacations involved at times long rides WITHOUT any cell phones or any type of social media...you had to endure the ride with what you could!!! If you had a walkman you were golden...even though we had less technology I would not change my childhood of the 80s for what these kids have today...no way!!! Give me a BMX bike over tik tok any day!!!! Plus for anyone that lived through the 80s this song instantly brings back scenes from National Lampoons Vacation 😂😂👍
70s were the best then 80s.
He did all the instruments and backup vocals himself bravo!!
I've heard that. Very surprising, since a lot of the backups sound distinctly female
I play this song every time i take my 5 kids on a vacation/outing.....I get the occasional eye roll...but always catch em humming this tune later in the day
You are no Clark Griwold. Father's do know best.

The video was amazingly dark, though. Quite a contrast.
@@sspaay I haven't seen the video until now and wow, the song is even more amazing in my mind, because the color of the song is dark, but the tone is light. Does it make sense? Until now, I had only heard the tone and it made me happy, then I saw the video and realized the song was "sarcastic" and in that way, made it perfect for the movie Vacation. I read somewhere that Harold Ramis was blown away by how accurately the song described his movie when he first heard it. Without seeing the video, can you tell the song was meant to be dark?

LB: “What about a dog barking to the beat at the end for no reason?”
Exec: “Genius! You’ve done it again!”
its simbolyze an annoying boss
I think the reason why was because of the Fairlight synthesizer which was a BIG deal at the time. It was the first sampling keyboard that came out in the early 80's and they were VERY expensive. Some artists wanted to show off that they had one, so they would put some weird sample sound in a song.. (Michael Jackson, Peter Gabriel, Yes, etc) all had one.
My guess is that it relates to the dog in the movie........... 80s humour at its best/worst!!!

@Daniel Olortegui there's this thing called the Mandela Effect. Maybe it was at one point.
I enjoy the duality of a video encapsulating the claustrophobic office work life, made popular by a movie with a family traveling freely across the world.
We just discovered this song after watching the Vacation movie with the family this Christmas. We ❤ it!!!!
Was Lindsey Buckingham with Fleetwood Mac?
It's a great song anytime!! And I think he was at one time part of Fleetwood Mac
All those years ago, and as a Fleetwood Mac fan, it was a shock to learn Lindsey sang this song!! long before the internet existed, how could you know? He's so naturally talented.
Ma'am, there is a previous incarnation of "Fleetwood Mac"(before boobs were added). Find an original version of "Oh Well"(3 minute version).
Right!!
Lindsey has a large amount of solo material this is at least as awesome as his material with Fleetwood Mac.
I'm a lifelong Fleetwood Mac fan and had never seen that movie. I kept hearing this song (they play it a lot in my local supermarket and drugstore) and it sounded so unmistakeably Lindsey, I guessed it was from one of his solo albums.
