I love the fact that the person in the middle chair just gets absolutely nothing to do. I love the utter randomness and insane structure of this sketch so much. And, of course, I love Jason's dancing.
Chris colfer.
Jason's dancing is everything
@@CloudStrife8894 No I think he means the person in the middle gets NOTHING to do in EVERY SINGLE SKETCH. 😂
owenopoliss Jason walking off the stage is even better than his dancing..
Dude im so addicted to this shit. .. i blurt this out daily, sometimes the dancing too... Jasons dancing cant be fucked with.. the george Jefferson at the end. Its a panty dropper
The look on Paul Simon's face when the actual Lindsey Buckingham is playing guitar is great, you can tell he really understands and appreciates the talent.
Lindsey looks like Garfunkel
LOL I came to comment this, he was mindblown too.
Fucking LEGENDARY Lindsey
He gave it a little bit of stank...
At least he does. LB is underappreciated
“That’s Nasty! We’re American! FLEETWOOD!!” Lmfaoooo his Ad-Libs during the solo had me in tears 😂😂😂
Paul Simon's face and body when Lindsey is playing the guitar is priceless
While the rest of the time...
If you look closely you can see his eyes begin to water up. He absolutely was into it.
Wait Lindsay Buckingham is a real person!!!??? 😅
@@franky.378 Oh heck yeah dude! Wonderful guitarist who played with Fleetwood Mack and had some solo work too. If you dig music I'd check him out. I'd recommend listening to "Trouble" by ol' Lindsay and going from there. :]
@@EvilNapkinPie i definitely check em out, thanks 😊
Bill hader told a sweet little story in an interview about how backstage during that show Lindsey just stayed and played the guitar for his daughter and that she would dance along

So wholesome
Lindsey seems like he’s really chilled out as he’s grown older.
What, and here I was thinking it was just a sweet little lie...get it? Uh huh, yes I did! 😆💩

Paul Simon was enjoying listening to the real Lindsey Buckingham 5:46

My favorite part of this is seeing Paul Simon in the background loving Lindsey Buckingham’s guitar playing.

@@Nat_the_Chicken hes awesome
was my favorite for years
This has been done so many times because Kenan can make any sketch work. He should run the show when Lorne retires.
@@GlennDavey You're out of your mind, friend. Kenan just laughs through every single one of his sketches. He treats the show as if it's a joke itself. SNL is the product of talent and hard work - it's no joke. Think I'm full of ship? Tell me how many successful stand-up comedians laugh at their own jokes. None of them!
@@GlennDavey Totally agree. Kenan is a guarantee that the sketch will be funny. He's so underrated in that regard. Hader was as well, of course. But right now in 2021, among the guys, Kenan's the only one with real charisma.
The guy they found to play the 2nd Lindsey was REALLY good!
Lmfao!
He looks just like the real Lindsey
I understand he had prior Lindsey Buckingham experience.
I thought a third Lindsey is gonna be the real one, but he didn't appear. Sad.

Lindsey Buckingham is one of the most overlooked Guitarists. He's so talented.
Isn’t he like pretty generally regarded as one of the greatest guitarists of all time?
The dude also used to be an abusive narcissist towards Stevie Nicks. I think he's mellowed with time but he's still out of the band lol
Saw him with Fleetwood Mac about 6 years ago. Christine was not on that tour and Stevie's voice was shot that night. Lindsey took over the show and blew everyone's mind with his playing. Truly underrated 🎸❤
@@thomaswells926 Rolling Stone put him at #100 in their 100 best guitarist of all time list so not quite.

The big smile on Paul’s face when Lindsey started playing was awesome. Two legends in one room.

The real Lindsay Buckingham showing up and playing guitar chords from “Big Love” makes this a classic skit
The SNL band doesn’t get enough credit for keeping these sketches together and on rhythm.
Absolutely
Wait, the song was played live by the band? I thought it was playback
@@farhanmahalludin if it is a live sketch then everything will be live. even the opening credits narration is done live.
It's easy when the sketches aren't funny.
It's actually not hard. When you've been jamming with each other for decades. And it's even easier when you all know what you're playing. If you've ever been in a band long enough you can just feel the music off each other. Whether it's a gift or not, as a drummer I can play with any random guitarist, jam out and keep the timing in sync. Most musicians should know what im talking about. That perfect time synchronization of improvised groove. Hell, I'd even add music is the closest thing we can get to actual real magic.
Jason Sudeikis in that track suit though. Dancing is on point
4:58 -- Ed Helms thought he killed it with his little display of banjo pickin'....

Every time Fleetwood Mac fires Lindsey Buckingham they have to replace him with two guitarists

I loved how Hader and Wiig headed straight to each other to dance at 8:04 🥰
Jason Sudeikis’s role (VANCE, the dancing GUY) is by far the best improv character he performs on SNL and he did it all without saying one word. This simply speaks to the overall degree of mastery in which he’s honed the craft of improvisation.
"This simply speaks to the overall degree of mastery in which he’s honed the craft of improvisation."
This is the most pretentious sentence I have ever seen on youtube. Why do all of you people think you're art critics all of a sudden? When did this happen? I'm so sick of it. No one can just say that they like something anymore. They have to use faux-intellectual, pretentious, condescending language in a pathetic attempt to convey that they're smart or that they recognize talent when they see it. You are not special. You are an idiotic parrot, repeating what you have seen everyone else say for years. You are pathetic.
In a recent podcast interview he said that it's dance moves he learned in high school to make his friends laugh.
He showed this dance even in one of Ted Lasso episodes. Love his acting there.

Too bad Simon doesn't appreciate Garfunkel these days.

I love how Chris colfer just looks so confused through the whole thing 😂
This show is pure genius at times. The level of talent on and behind the stage is just insane.
Ok but as a musician do y’all know how hard this shit would be? There was like 6 abrupt time changes that all happened depending on when someone gave their cue (prob the end of a line or something). This is bananas and could go so bad! But it’s brilliant! Idk if anyone else noticed, but Kenan coming in at 5:01 and very confidently declaring a time when it was kinda headed downhill, really saved the fucking ship! that man is truly talented.
I realize that SNL cast members leave SNL to further their careers, but I would totally respect and appreciate Kenan if he were to stay on for years to come. He has been one of my favorites.
Landon Jones ....I was thinking the same unfortunately I will give him one or two more years ....NBC got a show for him starting this Fall if that’s the case mostly like this year til May 2021 will probably be his final year.

Lindsay Buckingham is freaking amazing! I don’t understand how someone can stand on the same stage when he’s playing something like that without losing it.

Paul's facial expressions of awe, pleasure, and appreciation during Lindsey's playing was great to see. Would love to see them collaborate on something..
I've watched all of these now and can safely say they are the most high-energy series of skits on SNL. Level of intensity to get through this is nuts 😂
Idc what anyone says, Lindsay was shredding the hell outta that Gee'tar
Fortnite owes Jason Sudeikis some royalties.
Sudeikis is Golden in this. Best character after Keenan.
Fortnite is a bunch of blended together ideas other people had and have done better.
He’s doing “the running man” a dance that is 30 years one Fortnite owes some kids from the Bronx, Chicago, Houston or LA in the early 80’s
@David Stephens when did I say that they've given anyone any money, I said they copy everything, put it together in a pot, stir it and serve it to people who don't know any better
Bro all those moves are from the 80s and 90s lol
As soon as Paul Simon started talking I was just waiting for the beat to start and the longer he spoke the more tense and confused I got :') Also when Lindsey started the Big Love guitar I just flipped out. By far the best "What Up With That?" ever!!!
If you've ever even held a guitar before, you have to be amazed by Buckinghams ability! He is 2 players in one! Paul Simon is no slouch as a talent either! I'd like to see a project rise out of this!
The first time Paul Simon hosted SNL, before they regularly had musical guests, they had George Harrison on, and they did a duet of Here Comes the Sun. It would have been amazing to see Paul and Lindsey do a song or two together.

it amazes me how they always manage to get some astonishingly famous person to just sit there, i mean how much are they paying these people
MatheusCarvalho probably nothing - it's probably just someone who happens to be in NYC/in the NBC building
MatheusCarvalho Lorne Michaels most likely has a lot of pull
They don’t pay them anything. Most celebrities are knocking on SNL’s door to get a cameo on the show. It has a tremendous amount of pull and exposure
Forty-five years strong and SNL remains THE place to show your face then be a water cooler moment & be trending on social media the next day! Believe me celebrities & or their agents ring the SNL phone off the hook or Lorne's to get on the show unless they're so super cool and rock star fabulous that it's the show that calling l them if they could. I know Paul McCartney has done the show but Lorne tried for years to get all 3 former Beatles to appear together when George Harrison was still alive. He offered them a ton of money too but they still declined.
I don't know about the rest of them, but Lorne Michaels and Paul Simon are old friends.
I absolutely love how Paul Simon is supposed to act put-out but he can't help enjoying Lindsey Buckingham's moment.
There’s always so many little things to love about these sketches. The guests ability to stay in character, Sudeikis’ moves, Kenan’s enthusiasm. It was the raisins dancing for me in this one, I was not ready for that 😂
they are all good - but that guy Kenan Thompson does deserve more work outside SNL ... he is pretty talented i have seen him a number of things now .. he could do so much more in my opinion
Totally agree with you. Kenan Thompson deserves more, he is probably good also in movies.
I see him playing a Phil Hartman kinda deal. He's not gonna be the lead role in anything but more of a supporting guy, he may lead sketches on SNL but he is quite frankly "the glue" for the sketches now. Soon Kate McKinnon will be leaving, far too much talent for SNL to maintain.
+Ben Harrison bums me up...the show will probably finally officially die without them...no offense to the delectable Cecily Strong...so damn cute and funny
