I found a free abandoned house in the woods on a property I own.

- In February 2002 I bought this and a few other properties at a tax auction. Two of the properties I had never even seen before last week. I was surprised to find that this one has a well and an abandoned house on it. Pretty cool. I am thinking of the options. Off grid solar powered cabin maybe?

The more people in the house, the less are the chances of the supernatural being, or beings in the house from attacking. They fix up the house, the pastor blesses the house and bad spirits and bad vibes are thrown out the house!

I regularly come back to these videos. I'm from the UK and having spent my life in densely populated areas my dream is to own some land. Just for the space, birdsong and freedom. This helps me add to my fantasy a bit. It's amazing how huge and untouched a lot of the USA is to me. You are a lucky man and I wish you all the best. Been watching your vids for years :-)

I had an interesting experience. A few years back, a friend of mine bought a nice piece of land that had a large, modern home on it, and in back it had an asphalt road that went to the far end of the property. He never bothered going down that road, as he was just interested in his house on the front of the property.
One day he called me and he was shocked after he had a meeting with some county folks and found that his actual property went further "back" then he was lead to believe---by another 1/3 of the area. (My friend is not very good at sizing up property that he actually bought, he and his wife just liked the house.
So I suggest to him that we go down the road that he never explored and see where it dead ends. We take his Polaris out and down the road we go. Now this is a narrow little road on his property, but surprisingly flat and in good shape. The property is covered with rather lovely short wild grass and some trees, but not forest-y at all. Some gentle rolling little hills and very pleasant and quiet. In California we worry about snakes, but for some reason this area doesn't seem to have many. Well we go down the road and come up against this little hillside and right there built partially into this little hill was a concrete brick walled, small house! We were stunned. No one told him it was there. It is a small but complete house. We go and open the door, which was unlocked but had a surprisingly good seal on it.
You walk in, and it is like a big, divided room. To your immediate left is a raised wood platform, where you can put bedding and sleep. You could put a mattress there if you wanted. The place has a gas furnace, electricity, and the utilities are hooked up. There is hot and cold running water. Sewage is out to its own septic tank. To your right is a table and chairs, a small kitchen, and ahead of you a bath with shower and tub. Then, there is a narrow flight of stairs that goes to a den above, with a small outside deck, perfect for astronomy. It was like a getaway house! What was even more shocking is that it was clean, bright, there was no smell of mildew or anything. It was spotless. Above all else, there was nothing creepy or strange about it. It was nothing but cool! All that had to be done was to turn the gas on and light the furnace. It was like a deluxe mancave the likes of which we had never seen.
So a few months later they had the whole inside of their regular house painted, and it was going to take a while. They didn't want to stay there so his wife went to visit her mom for a few days, and my friend decided to "live" in the "bunker" as he called it for a few days. He invited me over. I brought an inflatable mattress and a sleeping bag. We had dinner, and then went upstairs on the deck with his telescope and looked up Saturn. Sleeping there was quiet and comfortable.
He tells me it is still like a dream. He can't find any information on the house, the neighbors never knew, no one knows who built it and why. We estimate it to be about 15 years old. I have never heard of this happening to anyone else!!!!

Jay Wilson i used to live in yemen,and there was a huge property the size of my neigborhood and the neighborhood adjacent to it put together. Since i've been in that country (from 03 -13) ,it had not been developed at all,and the rumor is that some rich saudi arabian owns it and probably forget or jist straight up ignored it's existence. The sad part about this is in the periphery of this property there is a row of homeless people who sleep there with no other place to go.

It is illegal to sell a landlocked parcel. If you were able to legally purchase the property, then there has to be an easement for ingress and egress across one of your adjoiners.

I don't know about the USA but pretty sure it's legal in Europe if the property is not suitable for living in aka not hooked upto the mains, I mean it happens often so often I doubt it's illegal as being listed by most companies selling cheaper properties. There probably is a track but it's just over grown.

a friend of mine here in Australia recently bought something like 2000 acres of land for 200k i forget the area but its large enough that it is listed as its own suburb any way its in dense lush rain forest because it used to be for timber
the other week we were hiking around it just seeing all it had and we found small abandoned town in the middle of heavy rain forest.. we called the real estate agent and he got back to us and said it was probably made in the 30s and that we had to wait for some one to evaluate if its heritage or not which in this country means you would no longer own it and if you did you weren't allowed tear it down only restore it
any way when my friend saw it his reaction was priceless he just took one look and said "what the fuck have i just bought Jurassic park"

Reminds of some property of a great uncle (complete with a spitting jar in EVERY room... yuck) in Alabamy but it had a river going around it and nice sprawling farm land. Wish I could find it again.

Whenever i see an Abandoned house, i didn't see it as "Horror" or "Serial Killer" stuff. Instead i try to imagine what was the house look like back then, who owned the house, who lived there, sometimes i imagine about the normal life back then like kids playing outside, dad is working in his garage, mom is cooking in the kitchen, or they had a family reunion in the backyard, having a friends sleepover like its normal. Especially the Victorian House or Suburban Houses plus if it is in the middle of Nowhere. I just want to ask the house about the history behind it, if only i could talk to the House.
