  • In this video I perform coding on my 2019 Atlas SE with 4 motion with Car Scanner Pro (IOS version). I show viewers how to unlock features on the 4motion, stability control, torque management and steering assist to totally transform how the Atlas drives. All said and done there is a lot of fun to code out on all VW MQB platforms.

    I made the changes to my 2020 Atlas Cross Sport & it finally drives closer to what I’d expect from the factory! I hated the throttle response before - the Direct is so much better! I prefer the High Power AWD feeling as well, much more like my Audi. Thank you for sharing!
    Note, the Coding icon doesn’t appear until after you connect to the car. Also, I was having issues connecting so the developer recommended pushing the scan tool in a little bit more & it worked perfectly on the OBD-II / EOBD connection profile.

    Hoping I can use this to figure out why all my trailer lights don't work. Did not have the factory hitch, installed one using all vw parts, vw trailer installation kit, vw wiring harness to the hitch, everything works but the brake lights. Running lights as well as Left and Right turn signal works on the trailer so it can't be a bad connection, brake lights on the vehicle work just not the trailer. Seems like the problem should be in coding somewhere.

    • @Pancho4dummies
      @Pancho4dummies  Před rokem

      Did you install the trailer recognition module along with the wiring harnesses?...I recommend you look up Atlas hitch retrofit within the VwVortex forums to confirm. Additionally there is some substantial coding that needs to happen in order to get it to factory spec....search Ross-Tech hitch retrofit to get more insight on what needs to be coded

    • @irhutch007
      @irhutch007 Před rokem

      @@Pancho4dummies Yes it has the VW factory trailer installation kit, VW put the kit in some time ago and coded it to work. I don't remember the brake lights not working back then but noticed it lately. Pretty much has to be in coding as the brake lights work and the module sends signals back for blinkers which are the lights used for the brake lights. Ross Tech device is 199 and I already have a Veepeak OBD-II scan tool but am not familiar with what needs to be changed. I am tired of spending money on this thing, I imagine VW will charge $100 just to plug in and check coding. I can buy a Curt module that plugs directly into the VW trailer lights for $70 but hate to waste all the time and money installing the official VW module and wiring harness. Likely a simple change but have not found anyone who knows how online.

    So if I get the cheapest version, is the car is set for life after tuning or does it go back to normal after the app service expires. Excuse me but I know nothing about these tunning apps.

    • @Pancho4dummies
      @Pancho4dummies  Před 3 lety +1

      This is not a tuning app but a coding app...it changes software options on various modules. It does not change or affect the tuning the engine management unit at all. All the changes that you make are saved and will not revert back up until you change them back to original settings or any other setting.

      The Atlas modules keep record of the coding instances so a dealer will know if it was coded and when it was coded. Some dealers are coder friendly and others are iffy. Havent heard of any case where warranty has been voided due to coding.
