Everytime I hear those opening notes, I can't help imagining the House MD intro along with the music. It's become natural for me to do that

In AUS and a few other places I think it was different song. Very similar and clearly written to replace it (I guess licencing issues).
But it changes the whole context of the show with this as the opening I feel, being in AUS and hearing this opening for the show online it was very emotional compared haha!

I’ve been doing some thinking recently about this channel and a thought popped into my mind overnight. It’s been a really interesting journey sharing my love of the piano with everyone all over the world. It still trips me out that I spend an afternoon recording a track (it has to be the afternoon for those curious about the process, as the piano is lit by natural light - it’s best between 1pm - 4pm in the room that I’m recording in), sitting by myself in front of a piano in my music school, and that people from all over the world get to experience a very private moment of my creative process.
What I find particularly interesting though is when I listen back to these interpretations, there’s a pretty strong disconnect between playing/recording the tracks and hearing them back. Without a drop of ego, I personally enjoy listening to these tracks either late at night to help me fall asleep, occasionally in the morning when I wake up to find some more motivation about working on my Radiohead songbook, but my favourite time would definitely be when I’m travelling, especially in airports or on planes, and also on public transport. As there are a lot of returning subscribers and listeners on this channel, my question to you is this: Where and when do you listen to these tracks? What are you doing? Working? Studying? Travelling? Eating breakfast? Passing out? What time of day is it? What do you see? How does it make you feel?

I really love your Radiohead arrangements. But "teardrop" is one of my favorite covers by you!! Amazing how you let the different melodies from the original interact. This brings the song to a whole new level. I tried to do it by myself using the original score and try to look at your fingering. But I would give a lot to see this masterpiece as sheet music... Thanks for your moments of relaxation!
I was just going to leave a comment about sheet music for this song. I’d love to purchase one of this arrangement. I also tried for a few years to interpret/improvise while reading my sheet music (stock standard) and it’s not achieving the same result. I love the bass line of this arrangement. It flows. Would love to buy the sheet music transcription of this arrangement.

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for not going off the deep end with taking too many liberties, keeping it ACCURATE, and following the actual song order! So many people who cover this song totally wreck it with ignoring pivotal things like the time signature of the melody and how it repeats after that 3rd low piano note and not the same time as the 4/4 drumbeat and lead guitar riff ect... , the movements, that beautiful resolution that you added, the dynamic moments where the mostly the beat and the auxiliary baseline are all that you hear (along with some awesome ambient sound fx...) and the timing of the lyrics acted out in piano! You NAILED it, and added some very nice touches! Thank you for REALLY respecting this song!

Hi Josh, I've lost count of how many times I've listened to your version of Teardrops but as an occasional hobby weekend pianist who heavily relies on being led by sheet music (not learning by ear) I'm don't improvise very often. Suddenly I can hear your version being played (the left hand flowing chords), it started flowing out of me and I ran with it. Just wanted to say, thanks for sharing your art and inspiring me & probably countless others.

I really love it too. I haven't really had the opportunity to spend as much time as I have on this instrument with other pianos, but my style of playing doesn't suit a Yamaha. I've played a lot of Steinways and few other premium pianos, but for bang for your buck, the Kawai is a really beautifully rounded piano.

This is one of those things that stops you in your tracks and everything just seems so much clearer and more poignant. Where even just saying this is wonderful doesnt even come close. It's one of those moments where you just look up at the person playing and everything you need to know about how that impacted on the person listening is in their eyes.
