Fun fact: This battle was so ambitious and packed to the brim that Unitale had trouble running it. There is actually a memory leak that occurs because of this, which causes some graphical errors if you play for long enough.

So, let me get this straight. All of this is simply a charade of a cosmic being's sick excuse for entertainment, and, if you don't FIGHT right off the bat, a whole bunch of mind games ensue, AND the whole 1st phase was simply a test to see if you could actually survive of some sort, AAANNNDDD, and, then there's this mysterious "Mother" character, this protector of sorts that helps the player, and, on top of this, the entire thing is 2nd person, so you're straight into the action. And this is in only 2 parts, there's going to be more. This whole thing is just a handful.

@@joolien6243 Japanese horror is often very surreal and symbolic, or at the very least quite uncanny to behold. I can see how this fits the mold.
This reminds me of Giygas.
What a coincidince, since Undertale is inspired by Earthbound. Also the weird music sounds like it would come from the mother series, but might be just one of the other undertale themes.
On Level 13, you can hear a slowed down+reversed version of Finale on the boss fight

So basically this game is trying to make you rethink what's actually happening in other video games.
You create beings of destruction that invades peaceful worlds. You kill innocent people that are forced to try to kill you.
All because you just want to have fun.

(Also I kind of wish the game wouldn't have just explained away that whole existential thing with "I'm bored lol")
That is us and you are it.
But it makes so much sense. We the player become bored and try to escape our daily lives, trying to escape to a reality that isn’t ours and never was. We play through the game/tv show/book and feel dissatisfied when even that fails to bring fulfillment. Then we toy with the characters to satisfy our sick never ending quest for entertainment.
We seek fulfillment even though some higher logical (dare I say sentimental) part of ourselves knows that such a thing is morally wrong, and yet we still go through with getting our fill any ways.
It’s so bizarre seeing YOU level up throughout the fight. I guess it’s been burned into my mind that leveling up is BAD.
LV: Level Of Violence, it shows you that you can,And you hurt Monsters.

That smile, doesn't it seem....familiar? I believe this "You" is what made CHARA evil. CHARA was not inherently evil until "You" got involved. Also, I think "You" is speaking in a literal sense. This is actually you.
"We". Like, games are about showing off. When you win, you don't realise everything you're doing is useless since the whole Universe is gonna die one day, or even because you're not actually helping humanity. You're just like "OMG I WON! I GOT TO THIS SECTION!" It doesn't matter if other people did it before on CZcams, you want to be a part of it. Kinda like how people want fashionable clothes, or how they want to actually go on a ride. Not just see footage. It's just kind of a lot more immersive and exciting if you are the one screwing with the world. Everyone is Chara, for two reasons:
1: We could all be characters in an infinite level of matrices, stories and dreams. Also, we don't know if reality is actually real.
2: Deoxyribonucleic acid DNA is so desperate to survive that it's more stupid than robots who actually have sense as a whole because they're made of lifeless metal. We've for some reason become more desperate and the dominating species for no reason. Now that we can have a much safer and carefree life, everything became useless. That's also because we discovered enough to know everything we ever did will be for nothing one day and we're all part of just one of the timelines in mathematics (we're made of it FYI). Since we so want to do something, and the Internet is trying to expand so far and we rely on it more and more, we made games and now we're playing them and screwing with Chara's matrix. We think it's not real so we don't actually care who gets murdered - they're not part of a precise pataverse (an entire detailed universe being imagined by someone) in which people are actually suffering and feeling pain. They're just a few blocks and pictures, being put together to show a "story". And trust me it would take a lot of information to simulate consciousness at our level which we are working on with high-tech computers. With me so far?
So yeah.

this game has such a hopeless dreamlike feel. The longer attacks, the strange visuals and audio, and the fact that your impossibly brutal feats of strength do absolutely nothing to whatever is fighting you up until around halfway through
4:01 One thing I have never seen to be done, is to just wait and not pick up the boost. I think the ompy I thing I saw close to it, was that there appeared three dots of silence above the Hellblaster.
Also no one ever cared about the green X on your HP hotbar.

I think this is a metaphor for abuse trauma and then confronting the abuser, getting help once they're not able to hurt you like they did when you were a defenseless child.
"Mother" in this case would mean someone helping you get out of an abusive situation.
The eye creature is a god because of how much power it's used to have, it represents violence. No one escapes violence unless they're a god or are blessed by onw, and only a small group of very powerful people can escape it.
But also, when you're trapped with someone who's constantly hurting you, it may seem like almost no one can hurt them, except for a group of people.
And once you're able to confront them, they notice that you might be one of them.

I like the theory that this is the player gone insane from all the genocide routes, to the point where you are actively killing yourself. The smiles, the weird, dreamlike aspect, it all seems to correlate, does it not? Another theory I have is this is what happens to frisk when chara takes over in the pacifist route at the very end. (only if you did genocide before pacifist) or perhaps this is a nightmare? Then again, it’s probably confirmed it’s just a tortureous powerful being who wanted entertainment, which is probably my least favorite answer. (Doesn’t mean it’s not true, though.)

*Fanmade Back Story: after killing everyone AND the player Chara decided to go to Snowdin and fix Sans's Time machine that he was working on, after fixing the Time machine Chara went to a different timeline where another player was doing a pacifist run. Through Determination and her will to Kill she awakened some kind of Curse/Power and Absorbed every Monster in the Underground. That includes Sans, And now Chara is more powerful than a god, Chara doesn't even know what it is anymore. Chara is neither a Human or Monster anymore. Chara has lost control of itself and is immortal and now the Player is filled with Determination and is trying to Destroy the Abomination. But the player doesn't know that its just a endless cycle of Death and Torture. it's the end*
