  • Today, we explore 5 common mistakes I still hear from my intermediate and advanced learners. If only somebody corrected them when they were still beginners! The mistakes wouldn't have stuck so much. That's why I want you to tackle all 5 mistakes at the beginning of your french learning journey.
    Aller, on y va ! 🇫🇷👋

      @@cassyparlefrancais :-) Easy mistake for an advanced learner of English! I think out of yours the one I make most would be the 'pour' one

    est ce que tu peux dire ou utiliser "retrouver quelqu'un la première fois" plutôt rencontre?

    • @cassyparlefrancais
      @cassyparlefrancais  Před měsícem +1

      Meet someone for the first time, c'est vraiment "rencontrer". "Retrouver" c'est l'idée que tu connais la personne et que tu vas vers cette personne. Le seul cas sera si tu as déjà parlé à la personne sur internet par exemple mais que c'est la première fois que tu la rencontré IRL. La éventuellement "retrouver" peut fonctionner

    False friend: 'introduire' - do NOT translate 'let me introduce my friend to you' using introduire 😶
    I hadn't realised about 'visiter', I will have to sort this one out immediately because we are always going back to the UK to visit family and telling people about it... awkward

    Les francophones disent l'inverse : I"ve been living here since 6 months ❌ I've been visiting since 2 weeks ❌

      Exactly! You know, I often tell my student to listen to mistakes french speakers make in english, that will teach them (and you) a lot about how sentences are structured in French. Me included, of course

    Bien sûr je suis coupable d'en faire tous.

    Dire "pour" au lieu de PENDANT !!! C'est une erreur que je fais régulièrement

      Elle est très très fréquente, c'est pour ça que je dis que c'est la pire haha parce que c'est la plus difficile à arrêter de faire !
