Can this fan base just stop crying about marchessault? I'm tired of hearing his name 24/7. The guy walked away from 3-year contract Kelly offered him. How many times have we heard him say how he loves Vegas and playing for golden knight was highlight of his career? But as soon as someone else offered him longer term he bounced, didn't even have the decency to write a thank you message on his social websites. Let's be honest, marchy was poor man's marchand and he probably peaked last season and he will probably never have another 42 goal season again.

Just be glad that you don't have trotz as your GM. They are old af as a team and still do not have elite game breaking talent on that roster after spending over 20 million dollars on 3 old washed up UFA's. And people think the preds are serious cup contenders.
As fans we were given a cup by our Knights. Our front office built and coached that team to the cup in 6. They know what they are doing . Yes our feelings for players are hurt but our team and it's FO will bring us a solid team.
The problem with management is if they knew they weren't going to extend these players, they should have traded them before the deadline and gotten something in return. We gave these players up for nothing. Also, the trade for Mantha and Hertl were bad moves. Draft capital and salary cap. Now we're looking at mediocrity for many years. We have no depth with injury prone players. This is the worst day in VGK history.
They were going for another Cup though. Cant just trade Marchessault can you?

Hertl had zero time to jell. Chemistry is a thing in hockey.
I rather they made zero acquisition at thr deadline and kept marchy and some other parts.

Tony should be happy. He hates VGK and he should be happy with the apparent downfall of VGK. Kind of surprised he’s completely melting off. I will agree with one thing McCrimmon said about yesterday. There were lots of over inflated contracts and my guess is he’s being cautious. Only time will tell but it’s very disheartening to see all these media people pretty much giving up on VGK. Yes we all hate marchy leaving but we just have to see what happens now. Just my take on all the meltdowns.
You are right, actually listening to McCrimmon made way more sense than all this emotional outrage by the bystanders. Vegas refused to make gift deals, similar to those that have forced other franchises into long rebuilds. How is that a bad strategy? Let's hope Stone and Hertl stay healthy enough next year. @@Karhukas I tried to listen to sinbin last night and that was painful to get thru. Ken was actually pulling a Tony. There were teams that didn’t go crazy signing ridiculous contracts. We just have to see how things will work out and time will tell if McCrimmon made the right decision. It will all come down to how these players will perform in their new team.

Once a team gets a reputation, it's hard to shake it. Tampa is now getting the same reputation. Agents don't want to deal with ruthless GMs unless they have no choice.
They just got hanifin, hertl waived his NMC to play here. Who wouldn't want to play for a team that is try to be competitive every single year? Plus no state income tax, nice weather. Players get traded when they're no longer needed and free agents go find a new team that will throw them more money and terms all the time. Typical jealous troll.
The concerns about people management are legitimate, however the inaction on a day of overpayments shouldn’t be described as terrible. Cap flexibility will come in handy when other teams need to get out from their bad contracts.

with what money did you think they were gonna sign anyone with? LT situation tied our hands and we already acquired Noah and Tomas... we had to get a decent backup goalie. no way should we trade anyone out of desperation, lets wait until people have injuries on defense and then we can get a better return for a Theo or Whitecloud
People don't seem to realize that they did their business back at the trade deadline. FA's were honestly overpriced for Vegas' $6 million cap space. Needed to be able to replace the people who walked. This is why fans aren't GM's.

My take on why they can't sign other UFAs. VGK has a rep in the league of treating players like crap. No respect for players. Witness the treatment Fleury got from the front office.

My take:
More & more you have to believe that players around the league are going to grow wary of signing with the VGK.
Other than Hertl/Hanafin no player on the current roster is signed for more that 4yrs.
McCrimmon wants MAX flexibility for his roster, doesn't play favourites and his only loyalty is to winning.
That's not a bad thing... but players come last in that scenario. YES, it's pro sports and all players are 'assets' at the end of the day.
But constantly treating them ONLY like that... it's going to hurt your reputation.
As an example:
Trading a Logan Thompson on the draft floor while he's representing your team doing a fan signing... not a great look.

I'm not sure why everyone doesn't see the obvious writing on the wall. The story that McC gives doesn't make any sense. He's just plain lying to our faces. It's been clear from the end of the Cup winning off season that they were not going to resign Marchy. All the players knew it. He burned a bridge somehow and someone wanted him gone. Could that be the coach? I don't know but something broke after that Dallas series ended so badly and there were signs of tension way earlier in the regular season between the coach and the player......beyond what we had become used to seeing.

It’s authoritarian rule. That’s the management style. Some do this with good outcome.
This guy doesn’t have team work mentality. He wants players to fall into line. Take inventory of player history here. Those who have their own personality don’t last. Too temperamental gone.
If you don’t rule with certainty eventually things fall apart. A Sphere full of eager young hockey athletes waiting to hear their name called..and the host GM selects a troubled young player. . Maybe a project for a later time. But you prefer him now.

I watched the You Tube of McCrimmon's press conference last night. I can sum it up in two words: Unbridled Arrogance. Everyone knew that when the VGK traded for Hertl that Stephenson was gone. Most VGK accepted that Carrier, Amadio,
Martinez, and Mantha would not be back. Everybody assumed a cap clearing trade would happen with a defenseman to finance Marshy's extension. McCrimmon's contention that term was issue is ridiculous. Term was not an issue with Stone, Petro, Hertl, or Hanifin. Losing Marshy is like Pittsburg losing Crosby. That is what he meant to this franchise on and off the ice. Commenting thar Marshy is a"fiery'" guy is very revealing. Marshy spoke his mind to Cassidy and others. He earned the right. He performed on the ice and was the epitome of the so called "character" of the the VGK. Logan Thompson asking for a trade. That is first in VGK history. McCrimmon had to scramble to fill that void. The constant stream from the VGK media echo chamber that playing for the VGK is wonderful has grown tiresome. After seven years, it is crystal clear that even when you perform, loyalty means nothing. Oh, I though LOYALITY was part of the Code of the Knight. What a joke!
Maybe no one wants to play for Vegas ever think of that.

I watched McCrimmon's last night, what a clown show. He really screwed up big time. I bet he will be gone after this season.
He’s just plain a very odd person.
And fortunate he is accepted with Cup the summit reached. Most seem to accept the wordy obscure style of things. His habit of shedding players with little or no return. Family life where you are mired in conflict but it’s all you know.
As a longtime NHL fan at large who happened to move here before VGK inception..I look around and see many teams do things differently to good effect. That’s mood enhancing. Glad hockey community is here and thriving.🙃🖼️🦋
Two years ago Tony said he will be fired And we won the cup.
He may have failed in the FA signings but he did fleece NJ in the trade imo. He sort of had his hands tied with cap constraints (although due to his own fault from trades last year).
