Hello Mukesh,
You said that while calculating the lap length, the smaller diameter bar is considered. But if you refer to IS: 13920-2016 Cl.6.2.6.1(b), It states that the larger diameter bar would be used to calculate the development length (Ld). It makes more sense because, larger dia bar would give a longer lap length, which is more safe. Also 13920 (2016) is a much newer version then the 456 (2000). Please advise.
