I'm not even a big CM Punk fan but I feel like this represents the return of PRO WRESTLING and that is what brought me to tears. I grew up on this and after over 15 years of Disneyland sports entertainment, it was such a relief to finally get some hope that the kind of wrestling I loved was finally coming back. I knew this would change the business. Just look at Cody Rhodes jumping ship and being given a huge spot at Wrestlemania. And he is actually being allowed somewhat to call it professional wrestling. Thank you Tony Kahn and thank you CM Punk for lighting the fire! With the 🌎 in chaos, from the pandemic to now a potential WW3 erupting across the globe, at least us pro wrestling fans can have some kind of escape, even if it's only for a few hours a week.

I get emotional because three days prior my dog died, I went to the event with a feeling of happiness and sadness but when we got to the arena the vibe was right and when Punk entered I felt this overwhelming joy! It really helped me realize that things were going to be okay, and to top it off I later saw that he was wearing the Larry hoodie and the tears of joy came out again! It all just felt right and I'm so happy I got to be there!

That's why Punk is so over. There is reality in his promos. Even if it's a scripted angle, he brings this realness and honesty to it. That's what made wrestling special back during the MNW: the line between work and shoot is blurred and it's done in such a cool way that you want to keep watching to find out what's real and what isn't.
