Sting has found the perfect balance for the 'legend' wrestler - keeping himself relevant, while recognizing that it's not his spotlight anymore, and fueling those that follow.
Allin has perfected the staredown, the calm intensity. Does he need Sting? No. But is he benefited by him? Yes.
Punk... remains to be seen completely, as he's still in the honeymoon adulation period after his return, and hasn't really adopted a gimmick yet, but hopes are high, and the talent is definitely still there.
Brooks needs no gimmick; is narcissistic, megalomaniac character in real life.

Really are you that excited that you waited nearly 8 years for CM Punk to return to wrestling and his first match is with the scrawniest, smallest, metro sexual looking wrestler in the world. On top of that clearly Punk is winning so what does this gain. There is no feud. Punk wants to fight him because he reminds him of himself and he's his favorite wrestler. Why not have Punk kick the shit out of him early and say "You're never gonna be like me". And then say he's back to set the record straight that he truly is the best in the world and go on a tear as a loner beating everyone.

It’s a small detail, but I appreciate how Punk actually stayed down and took a beating from 2.0. In any other promotion with any wrestler with an ego, they would’ve had their “hulk up” moment and started whooping in a 3-1 assault, but not Punk. Punk’s going out of his way to make the young guys look good, and I appreciate that.
When he debuted in ecw against Justin credible, he made sure to put justin over during the match as well,even though he won, usually stars dominate their debut match, he may have a mouth on him lol, but he has alot of respect for the business and knows how to work it

Another small but excellent detail: when the beat down was happening and then Darby's music played for the save, the heels didn't stand there with their mouths open like idiots. Instead, Garcia instructed 2.0 to take care of business on the outside while he handled Punk alone in the ring.

This reminds me of the wrestling I grew up watching. It's fun and entertaining. I don't know what happened to the other guys, but they aren't putting this level of quality out there, that's for sure.
From tagging with The Ultimate Warrior to this moment, Sting is the standard of professionalism and talent that i wish every wrestler aspired to - the industry would be in a much better place. I can imagine Punk and Darby geeking out inside as this was happening.

Loved this segment. Loved how Punk sold the three man beat down and didn’t Super Punk it. Loved the turnbuckle punches and the GTS. Loved how Sting brought himself in and then excused himself while hyping the match.
Admit it, the segment was perfect.
One of the worse GTS ive seen, and im a fan of Punk, but dude is out of shape. He was gassed in less than 5 minutes and almost fell down doing the GTS. UFC debut all over again, he should really be in shape for this, which he is not.

Crazy thing is, as dark as he looks, that is just the Stinger personality. Like that is how he did promos with the blonde-hair and colorful facepaint. Sting/Taker is the real dream match that didn’t happen. If we could go back to the 04-05 time range, Sting/Rock or Sting vs a young Orton would have been interesting also. Never thought of Sting vs Punk, but that would have been interesting.
