This week Mat Manning shows the tactics and equipment he uses to get the most from this awesome method, and rounds off with a hunt to demonstrate how it boosts results when culling invasive squirrels.
We’ve got a CO2 rifle on test this week, and it comes with a whole lot of extras. The Umarex Hammerli 850 Air Magnum XT Kit includes a telescopic sight and mounts, sound moderator, bipod, ammo and target cards. Just add an 88g CO2 capsule and it’s ready for the range.

2:38 That squirrel was kicking around like he was Rick James on Eddie Murphy's white leather sofa.
Never gets boring! Another brilliant, informative show. Not a bad little rifle used on the hunt. Thanks for taking the time again to show and share your tips 👍🏿
Thanks Dean. We do our best.
Mat
Excellent video, thanks to the crew!
Another great episode. Thank you Cameraman Nikki and Matt.
You're awesome, I have been watching you for a while now and seem really confident with what you say and how you set up your equipment! Keep it coming
Another fantastic episode Mat!
Hello Mat ~nicely explained with the squirrel feeder approach 👏👍
Great work. Keep up the pressure on them.
Thanks Matt - I appreciate the time you took to reply. Keep up the great work!
Great show Matt.
Good stuff. Those Zbroia guns are excellent.
Some excellent advice there Mat, it was also nice to see an explanation behind the theory of squirrel feeders, having built quite a few now (over 50) for myself and friends I appreciate its not just a box!
regards

Thanks Simon. Yes, there's a bit more to it than most people realise but it's a great method when you get it right.
All the best. Mat
Nice one Matt.
good show
great show bud..
Cheers Mat for that very informative video - I have been trying to get squirrels to my Peanut feeder w/o very much success!
I have found that in my area, once I shoot one squirrel, all the others seem to stay away...!
I'm not giving up though, and with the extra info from your video.....I hope to be much more successful!
Cheers, Mark (From the other side of the pond)
Yet another grat vid thanks for uploading

Have you done a review on the webley raider 12 in 177 ?
That was probably the best airgun vid I've seen for a long long time .. so full of interesting and informative stuff . Well worth giving up watching coronation Street for ( too be truthful I'd rather eat my own head then watch that crap ) ... Superb stuff Matt ... Keep up the excellent work , it's very much appreciated ... Oh ( can't go without saying ) you were superbly well groomed for the vid ...
Thanks Mark. Glad the content and grooming were to your liking.
Cheers. Mat
Love airguns. But dray poke and hushpower .410 job done
I would usually fit high mounts which allows me to use iron sights.
Great Video Matt - as ever. Just one question - why with a multi-shot pcp do you load the rifle immediately after taking a shot so that you are sitting with a loaded rifle with only the safety to make the rifle safe. Wouldn’t it be better to ‘lock’ onto the target and then ‘load’ the weapon?
Good question.
I never trust the safety catch but ensure that the muzzle is always pointing in a safe direction. I like to shoot at close range, and most of the quarry I shoot wouldn't hang around to wait for me to load up.
All the best. Mat
How do you pick a good area for a new feeder ? Great show as usual keep it up
Hi Mike. I try to go for places where I have seen squirrels or dreys. Apart from that, places with lots of cover, thick ivy and hollowed-out trees - the sort of places squirrels would live.
All the best. Mat
I have a daystate air ranger .25 The problem is that it sounds a lot and when I shoot a blow of air comes to the face. What is it, some solution? Thank you.
Sounds like a transfer port O ring failure, have you noticed a drop in power/velocity ?
That first squirrel went like Tom Daley
Pls can you use more springers
Such as the norica storm x
👏👏👏
Nice work on the squizzers Mat. I am holding out for the Weston park Game fair, are you going to that one and if so I will be sure to say hello. atb phil.
Hi Phil. Yes, I'm planning to be at the Midland. Will have a lot to get round but will try to spend some time on the Airgun Shooter stand. Hopefully see you there.

What does it shoot? Air?
Or is it like a bb gun?

The review gun is powered by CO2 and fires pellets.
What kaliber?
Yes, that feeder was built without 'squirrel knowledge' wasn't it?
Another 'Airgun Show' that was worth waiting a fortnight for,...Thanks!

Using the bipod on this gun is a bad idea. The bipod is connected to the front cap and the front cap is connected to the barrel. Any pressure on the bipod, in any direction, ruins your grouping and accuracy. Without the AO, on higher magnification, your shooting is prone to parallax error. All the cumulative inaccuracy may be blamed on the gun. So if you buy it, buy the gun separately, don't use a bipod that puts pressure on the barrel and buy a decent scope with AO. And take at least 30 seconds between each shot. It's a CO2 gun not a PCP.
First
I have one of these it will kill anything if that is what you need. chuck away the walther scope its no good. this gun is the nuts. do not waste money on well known makes. i got a bigger 25 x 50 scope as this gun is effective at long range. GET ONE
Just too much chatting 😴😴
