One thing goes into pricing this: people profiting too much for ten year old juice. Oh and the fancy packaging, which does add a little appeal. I'm with Trenton, but double the skepticism. Ain't no WAY I'm paying $400 (or even $275) for a bottle. I'm not sure there's any bottle of whiskey I'd pay that for, honestly, so I guess I'm not the target consumer for this.

I definitely don't have the cache of Kurt and Trenton - but i was actually compelled to do this exact blind. I didn't include Rare Breed Rye, though i did include OF Single Barrel barrel proof Rye and JD single barrel barrel proof rye. I will say that, somehow, the blind didn't make sense. It seemed like i was tasting completely different categories of whiskey (i.e. scotch vs irish vs rye) with the exception of OF and JD. I could see how they were all rye whiskey, but i quickly understood that there is a MUCH wider potential for outcome in rye whiskey than there is with bourbon.

Great review on the Triumph. I'm from Illinois and was lucky to be at Wild Turkey the day it dropped and picked one up. Got to meet Jimmy Russell, and he signed the bottle. I agree... to me this does not smack you around. The nose is incredible, and at first this seems crushable. But, when you get a few sips in, it takes you on a wonderful journey of so many different flavors... the honey, orange - citrus, light caramel, a little wood... it just keeps going on and on for me. The palate is subtle, but there is a lot going on. I can see sitting down with one pour for an hour or so and just enjoying the ride. I can't wait for mine to open up a little and see the difference, but this will be a bottle that I save for special occasions.
(Edit for Trenton. Job Chapter 2. It's a good read, and just like this bottle... a great example of patience paying off in the end.)

You guys gave been a joy to watch and i have learned a lot. I have definitely been soaking it all in. So being new to really experiencing different bourbon's and whiskey i had not really explored my different vendors. I have long been a fan of Buffalo Trace but can not get any in Alabama. Being just a few miles from Florida I pick it up across the line. So i am used to my ot finding things locally. But, you spurred my interest in Old Foresters 1920. I had found a nice store locally that has everything i see you two reviewing. Did think the price was a little high from listening to you guys but thought maybe it is what it is. To my surprise my wife was at the ABC looking for some mixers and had called me to see if i was looking for anything. She picked me up some Makers Mark Cask Str. and Elisha Craig small batch. Both for a little over $30 each. To my surprise she had noticed that the Old Foresters was more than $20.00 cheaper at the ABC. I had given $80. Did not think pricing would be that drastic just a few miles apart. Thanks for all the content as i have very much enjoyed doing the taste test myself. Quick question or maybe a tipic for a video. Three to five bourbon's that you would suggest a new taster to try with $100 per bottle limit. Thanks again

Currently have seen this in two different stores on the shelf available to anyone at $329. I, for one, appreciate wild turkey letting the price rise to the level of demand instead of all this crazy allocation/who you know/secondary market crap. If me and a couple buddies want to chip in and split a bottle of it instead of going out to the bar we can because it is in the store and not horded in some flippers basement waiting for some secondary market sucker to come along at 5-10 times the “fake” SRP of $125.
If the price stores can meet demand and the product is available is $275 or $329 THAT is what it is worth. If it is too high it will sit around and they will lower the price on it.

At this point any store owner paying over msrp for any bottle that's on them. The bourbon bubble is busted wide open at this point! I walked by two cases of ER 10 on the shelf $41.99 just this morning, as well as a case of Blantons 😂
The only people at this point that would deny the "bubble has burst" are Flippers 😂😂😂

I have to be honest. If I could do my whiskey journey over again I would probably trade my 300 bottles in for more highly allocated ones like this and reduce my drinking. I could do very well with 20 great, possibly expensive bottles and 5 or so more common releases. Cheers all!

It’s a fantastic pour. I really enjoy my bottle. However, it’s total luxury. Not a must have for the price.
