I think it was a good thing that Christina had her own show because her & tarek had different styles.. Christina is very creative & likes to take risks in her designs & her show truly shows her talent.
Christina looks much happier doing this on her own. I'm a diehard flip or flop fan buuuut I'm glad to see her doing so well :) good job babe

Even though Christina always picks the same materials - white shaker cabinets, marble countertops, grey/white backslash, laminate flooring - it turned out really nicely.
The changes were going to be obvious (removing the wall and adding an island), and it totally paid off. The living room blended so well that it wasn't even as noticeable. Lovely.
What a sweet couple. He's got the personality for sure. No doubt they will really enjoy the renovation.
This is definitely good for Christina. That Flip & Flop show prepared her for this show. I actually like her role here more.

I think this is so perfect. It's light and bright and so stylish with the two toned cabinets. I wasn't sure about the backsplash at first either, but it's stunning. She made them both very happy.

No she's not a good designer, her two color choices are gray and white, her back splash choices for kitchen and bathrooms are hideous

True, but gray has been sooo overused! Why not use inexpensive white tiles placed herringbone style? A little grey grout between the tiles would meet Christina's need for grey.
She actually does better job when she works solo. Amazing.

one thing I learned in interior design in high school was don't mix your textures too much. got tile flooring? don't switch to wood. BUT the home we live in has a wall like that. ya get used to it

I don't care for the vinyl flooring. IMO they aren't that durable, they stain fairly easily, and they are not moisture friendly.
To solve the "load bearing" problem with the large kitchen island... just simply build the island AROUND just 1 load bearing pole (it will be smack into the CENTER of the island itself). Then people would be able to walk ALL THE WAY AROUND the island, "with out" the feeling of bumbing or running into the load bearing polls themselves. 😁

He’s a fire fighter, she’s a SAHM for 3 kids in California and their budget is $65-70k for a kitchen renovation? One of them must have rich parents….
They probably have been saving up for a few years.
Christina needs to go back to design school, she uses the same Two colors gray and white
and what's with the ugly back splash. colors are what give more character
and some wood accents would help
70k for all that space including furniture isn't very much. She probably had to go budget friendly and ended up in a very neutral palate as a result.

The client said NO COLOR. You have to respect the client’s wishes
But that isn’t what the clients want.

The owner says , she loves rustic look.. what she gets?? NO rustic look at all. Such a pity.
