  • Dale Kreviazuk from UV Pools explains some important notes with indoor pools in Winnipeg. Indoor pools take special attention and care because in Winnipeg, especially in the wintertime you can have issues with humidity and temperature. One thing to note that's really important for indoor pools is you want to keep the water temperature and the air temperature within 2 degrees of each other, that's how you mitigate the rate of evaporation. You don't want your pool water evaporating in the winter and then condensating up the windows. The next important thing is you need a lot of air movement in indoor pools, this pool here we have ceiling fans on the ceiling there's also a whole system that circulates the air and it draws the humidity out and puts it back into the pool. Another way to cut down humidity is simply just by using a pool cover. A lot of people don't like using pool covers on indoor pools because they don't look as well but if you're not using the pool it really doesn't hurt to cover it up and that prevents a ton of evaporation. This also makes it so that the HVAC system that's running in your pool area doesn't have to work as hard to take all the moisture out of the air and put it back into the pool.

cools the air !!! to make the humidity condense.... then reheats it and throws back in dry (er) temperature adjusted air so that super cold dry air isn't being basted back onto wet people. but yes you were very close. lol

should pool water temp above or below air temperature ? I am struggling with setting the right values of air temp, humidity and pool temp.
