- We got a couple of nice days again so we knocked down the remaining of 2nd cut for silage. We're still waiting for right conditions to finish our 1st cut hay.

Farmer's POV (Point of View) is a channel where I share videos of different chores that are going on on our small family farm in Slovenia. We have 60 heads of cattle, mainly simmetal breed and we milk about 35 of them. We farm in a fairly hilly area so our equipment is relatively small. Currently we own 4 tractors: Fiat DT55-56, New Holland TN70DA, Deutz Fahr Agroplus 85 and John Deere 5085M. We work around 20 hectares of mainly grass fields and about 2,5 hectares for silage corn. We also have 7 hectares of forest.
After watching a few videos, I've noticed your hoof trimmer is doing an excellent job👍
Its nice too see you and your dad working in sunshine wee have rain from Monday to Sunday this wheek but he sun is looking at us now for the first time this week

I am a farmer doing research before I go into my adventure I can't decide on pit silage or bale silage or both. How did your farm make your decision
I guess you have to try both to see what works best for you. We decided for pit silage because we can utilize our loading wagon more and don't have to own a baler, the feed is more consistent and its easier to load the mixer from the pit. Its also easier on the mixer, bales seem to be hard to mix.

Well its not chopped by the forage harvester but its still cut to around 5 centimeters.

Its for levelling the grass, spreading it even acros the silo.

@@farmerspov4709 sem mislil, da ima več. Drugač poznam primere ko so kosil spredaj 250 pa zadaj 165 s 70konjskim traktorejm pa 3 cilinderski motor😂🤦. Je šlo, sam bolj počas😂.

Yes but then I compact with JD, if I had the roller on the back of the JD then I couldn't compact all the way to the back silo wall.
