He is like a lion in the pitch, defending his territory like a king. Seeing him inspired many to play in defence. Defending is also an art, he taught the world.
Just imagined italy team now have 5 backs and that's baresi, maldini, nesta, fachetti and cannavaro.Probably rivals team couldn't scored one goal if italy have these 5 hell of defenders.Insane!
What a defender. Even canavaro is no close to him. A defender that plays like a midfielder and like a striker and also dribbles. What an icon of a player. Franco Ba.....re......si.
Easily my favorite player of all time. The passion, the leadership, and above all, the heart to play for the badge and throw himself on the line to keep a clean sheet. Legend 🙏
The greatest defender I've ever seen. He had everything - extremely smart with lazer like precision with his anticipation, postioning and clean challenges, quick, fine passer, brave, deceptively strong, supremely consistent, lots of heart, and a great professional. He was one of those players who could have been outstanding in a number of positions given his overall quality. His 2-3 week recovery from a serious injury just in time to play in the 94 World Cup final (and excel in it) really is legendary. I was devastated that he, Baggio and Maldini didn't win that day.
amazing how attackers just stood up and went back to the game, instead of rolling around like wieners on a hot pan for 10 minutes.

May we concluded that: in 80s and 90s, goalkeeper was the easiest job in Italian football. Especially in Milan.
Fun Fact:
I’ve been watching football since 1986 and Baresi is still the best centre back I’ve ever seen. <- full stop

He was very fast for a defender.

Simply the best defender of all time in the best football team of all time.

The godfather of Maldini
The tears in his eyes shows his love for his club
My first memory in football is of this man running across the San Siro and crying, when he said goodbye to football.
I'm a Inter fan, but I think Baresi is the best central back in the history 🔥🔥🔥🔥
