From experience; headgear makes punches hurt more. It amplifies rotational force. I sparred with headgear once and never again. All it protects you from are cuts.

How would you have benefited by seeing Roy Jones Jr getting injured? As it was, we saw exactly how much Moxie each of the men had in them. I saw no reason for anything more brutal. Tyson won. We all know that. RJJ kept his dignity.

I think Mike has done an impressive job of hyping this fight. Any additional interest in this contest can almost be assuredly because of Tyson. He has shown a piece of himself, just enough of it, to allow serious speculation...and that speculation is where the extra interest has come from. Your first reference is of a clip of Mike hitting mitts & bags...I rest my case.
It's a foregone conclusion. Tyson has the experience, the killer instinct, the power, and is 20 POUNDS heavier than Paul. Yeah he's 57, and doesn't have the stamina he used to but all the power is there and it's not like he was known to have fights that went the distance, he was known to knock guys out in the first 3 round. Jake Paul should be worried about surviving without serious injury.
Honestly, I forgot about the fight. I'm still planning on watching it though.

This fight is very interesting. We are witnessing the matching up of two men on opposite ends of the bell curve. These two men have exactly opposite strengths and weaknesses. It's sad to see so many ageist comments. Ageism is as WRONG as racism. Both of these men are highly intelligent in their own ways. Both of these men have the capability of killing the other, and that is not something that anyone should want to see. Personally, I am very happy that this is an exhibition encounter, and I hope it is a good, entertaining match for all of us spectators, and a good payday for the fighters, promoters, producers and everyone involved.
From my point of view there should be nothing but love and respect for BOTH Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.
