Seemed like Bisu was dishing out plenty of pain but Jaedong did a great job of channeling his inner Zerg spirit and having a seemingly endless army. Felt very thematic with the lore on top of being an exciting match.

This is exactly why Brood War beats SC2 every time. SC2 is usually decided by one big fight, or an early harass - predictable and boring. Brood War on the other hand, its constant back and forth, insane swings, full supply fights over and over - and you're never sure who's winning. And they accomplish all this WITHOUT making giant death balls of units and with only a 12 unit group limit. Fucking impressive.
Also because its harder to build things in brood war, this means that sometimes experts are distracted while their huge army of 40+ units gets killed by well microed 12 units.
and the janky movement makes it hard to run across the map to win anyway
SC2 is much more diverse and balanced, on the other hand, half of the units and abilities from Brood War are borderline unusable.

Hey Falcon, sorry for the constant comments, but to answer your question about Drones sometimes exploding when they die.. if any worker dies while holding minerals or gas, there is an additional explosion with it the death animation. not sure what the theory is behind that (makes sense with vespene, odd having minerals explode).

In brood war I think it is pretty normal for the zerg to be a little behind the protoss in supply , correct me if I'm wrong...
Yes, the commentator is completely unaware of basic pvz foundations, and it is normal for a zerg to be behind 30-40 supply. if the zerg ever reaches max supply thats usually a sign that he is going to win, because a maxed out zerg army is by far the strongest. ZvP is a very complex matchup, but no one knows high level broodwar macro anymore :(

Drones "explode" when they die, if they're holding a minerals or gas packet, because they use that object's death animation instead.

10:03, 10:27 - 3 Corsairs actually died. Scourge do 110 damage each, so each time they explode green, a corsair has almost always died. JD's 6 scourges all connected with 0 waste which is quite a huge deal. Sorry I main Z in Broodwar so I'm very receptive to those successful hits :D

This isn’t brood war remastered but this was definitely a great battle. Bisu is my favorite player next to SoS in sc2. Great stuff

Those defiler spells are so powerful, especially dark swarm.. How do you beat that? It seems there's just no way to defend those bases.. lots of reavers+zealots maybe.
bisu didn't use reaver until very late, he mainly used zealots,got plague all over their face and cost him the game, I'd say more dragoon and less zealots would be the counter, since swarm is static, dragoon can move back to avoid swarm, and dragoon takes a lot of space which makes plague less effective to them than zealot.
kyjo72682 and when zerg try to move forward to catch dragoon, they will be met with storm. thats why we dont see many zealots versus zerg late game, plague and lurker are too strong against zealot.
Defiler is strong but takes time to get and even longer to fully upgraded, and it's heavy on gas also. Bisu was too greedy, didn't go for the kill when he could before JD got defiler and enough army to deal damage.
i thought Jaedong is gonna lose this game.... but that macro is too imba

at one point jaedong looked completely lost being 5 bases against 5 bases and 40 psi down. Then after losing the nexus at 12 Bisu had a huge vacuum in his production and his psi dropped even lower than jaedong's. that looked quite unexplainable since despite losing the nexus he had still over 3000 in bank as he was maxed out. Weird game

Hey guys, I got a general question: Why do you often see players spam APMs at the start of the game? Is it just boredom? Or is it about showing off, pushing your average APM?
A combination of factors, including all the stuff you said, and also warming up your fingers for when you DO need 300 APM in the late game.
This is a great game for jaedong. Table flipped on bisu face. Defiler plays a key role for zerg player. I always wonder the reason for corsair player not to use their spell.
you have to get a fleet beacon to research it and fleet beacon has no other use in ZvP so not really worth it

I think because it lasts for such a short time. I haven't ever see a pro use it.
Thanks, that kind of makes sense! I still find it a bit strange given how many corsairs there were, you can probably make it last a while. It just seems so lopsided when compared to zerg using the dark swarm and getting away with murder.

The corsairs died. You need to pay closer attention to the scourge hits... you keep saying that the corsairs are slightly damaged when in reality the corsairs were killed and you were looking at the ones that survived.

Falcom you really need to build some high templars after researching the amulet upgrade. They receive 0 boost in starting energy, and they start with less than 75 energy. You consistently get this wrong.

At 10 minutes one of those corsairs died to the two scourge. FYI.
Also the purpose of the corsair pile is to prevent a mutalisk switch. So even when they are doing nothing they are serving their purpose just by existing
