Description:
The Autobots are brave robot warriors hailing from the planet Cybertron. Their mission? To stop the Decepticons from enacting their evil schemes on Earth.
In this deck-building game, you will take on the role of one of the mighty Autobots. Travel and explore the Matrix and change between your different modes as you gain allies, find relics, and acquire technology to do battle with the Decepticons. But be warned! As your deck grows, more powerful Decepticons will rise up to challenge you.
The Transformers Deck-Building Game can be played competitively or as a cooperative experience. This Core Set will begin your collection with everything needed to play, but the battle is far from over as playable Decepticons are on the way to expand your game.

Thanks a lot for this video. The rulebook that comes with the game is really tough to get to and so wordy. Thanks for taking the time to study it and then make this video for people like me who learn better this way. Now I can just use the rulebook as supplement to what I learned in this vid!
Glad I could help. A lot of people feel the same way you do about rule books so I try to make these videos is complete as possible, And easy to follow.
Needed a quick refresher. Good timing.
Excellent. Glad I could help :)
I just heard about this game today and your video was so very helpful explaining everything to me. I will definitely be picking this game up soon, and I am now happily subscribed to your channel.
Welcome and thank you :)
Excellent video. I found the rules around adversaries and bosses very confusing, and your video was the first one to break it down in an easy to understand way.
Glad I could help :) I thought it was important to get that into the video even though it did extend the video length quite a bit.
Just picked this up at a holiday sale at my LFGS and WOW. Been a minute since I visited your channel and I am very impressed! Thanks for this teach, it was efficient and thorough.
Glad we could help :) if you’re interested in any of the other renegade deck building games, we are giving a few of them away during our 12 days of Christmas giveaway which will be starting sometime this week.
Thanks for this! I played with my friend but we didn't understand some of the card timing and targeting. This really helped clear it up. :)
You are very welcome :)
what a fantastic video.this rulebook can be treacherous
Found your Rising Sun video when I was searching for a how to play. Nothing wrong with that video but wow has your production quality stepped up since then. Great stuff as always Mark.
LOL I agree ha ha. I actually use our rising sun video to reteach myself the game every once in a while. That was our third video I think. We learned a lot since then. everyone has to start somewhere. We recorded everything on my phone and used whatever random mics I had around the house. Every video we do is an improvement over the last. We keep improving our studio lighting, sound, cameras etc. trying to make the best experience for viewers. So makes me happy that you enjoy the contact :)
Very good instructional video. At the least this guy goes step by step. Others just assume this and that.
Thank you :)
This is the most dramatic setup of a game I've ever seen.
I honestly can’t even remember it lol.
I think they made this game more complicated than what it needed to be.
Combat is too convoluted.
Whether or not to assist, is the player damaged or not?
You game goes against what you might intuitively want to do
Every time you want to fight a face up Decepticon you get ambushed, like, you already know it’s there, why would you get ambushed again?
You can only use Energon abilities at certain times.
I had to develop my own house rules just to keep the game flowing.
Yea I think heads are going to explode when I try to show this game to people. Not sure why ambush takes place when you move into a space with an already revealed robot.
There is a new game coming up. Mayhem by CMON. Will you unbox/review/make a guide for it?
I’ll be boing all the How to Plays for CMON for the next little while :)
When you buy a card or battle a robot you have to have be on that space or have the range to buy it if its 1 or two spaces over correct?
All the cards you use to buy it from a distance have to have enough range. If your on it, range doesn’t matter
When I buy an autobot can I then play it for free whenever I draw it again?
This box looks like a new edition..does this version have any differences from the original release?
It’s the same game but the word “transform“ in regards to a robot changing form has been re-written as “convert”. But gameplay is definitely the same.
@@BoardGameCoffee what was the reason behind that change? Also I noticed yours says "core box" on the front. Mine does not.
I believe it’s just one of those licensing rules that renegade has to adhere to. so if Hasbro says you can’t use the word “transform“ in this way or that, then that’s just the way it’s gotta be. Rule of the intellectual property world :) And as far as the boxes go I’ve only ever seen the original in this new reprint that were sent to me.
@@BoardGameCoffee seems weird that Transformers can't "transform" 🤷♂️
Where did you get megaton bust?
I’ve had that statue for years. Bought it at a local comic book store.
Question: How much damage can an autobot take before he's dead?
It's been a while since I did this video, but I don't think they die. They just suffer the negative affects from being damaged
5 damage and you lose.
Why did Renegade revise all of the "Transform" text to "Convert?"
I don’t know. I’m not sure it’s a Renegade thing as much as a Hasbro thing. I’m pretty sure I saw some other instance of somebody using the term convert instead of transform in reference to a transformer toy.
Hasbro has changed to using Convert for a long time now. Using Transform genericizes the term to the point they won’t be able to hold the rights to use the term in the same way. It wasn’t caught at first and later corrected for the subsequent expansions and the reprint eventually.
