I have a SWB 3.0ltr supercharged portfolio, it isn't 4WD and it's in blue with the cream two tone interior.
My fuel economy averages 31mpg combined.
For those watching this and wondering how it drives, I can only describe it as sublime. The power is more than adequate at 340bhp and the torque at 330ftlbs provides good pull at low RPM.
The feel of the car at any speed is like no other I've driven, it somehow manages to combine magic carpet smoothness with sure footedness and flat cornering even at speed that fills you with confidence.
It's a big car but it wraps around you as a driver and feels light and tight. When you drive it you know you have the power and poise to handle any situation you may encounter and the confidence it gives you is second to none. Above all though when you drive it you feel special. There's not many on the road and it's stunning looks and presence really make you feel king of the road. I fall in love with it anew every time I get in it and fire up the supercharged engine.
My dad has this car and its in back with a burnt orange interior. I love it!!( can't wait to get my license next year so I can drive it alone)
I have a 2012 Jag XJL Portfolio, and its the best car I have ever owned. I'm 45 years old, divorced, and I feel totally comfortable driving this car where I used to perceive Jags as stodgy. I look at an S class or a 7 and think you can have it. The interior is beautiful and luxurious, and the engine is over the top. I love the car. It has had zero problems. I'm a big fan and I have owned some very nice cars, highly recommended.
Mentioning that you are divorce has no relevance...other than that...i agree with you
Wes S
Mentioning he's divorced means he's in the man club and can enjoy himself without being nagged.
Wes S sorry but you fit the jaguar owner personality... are you by any chance a lawyer fighting with your ex wife for full custody of your four kids and the 500,000 dollar house along with anything and everything she has? That would make you the most suited person to drive a jag
Jaguar has made a nice comeback the last few years. Love their cars and the brand. This car in particular is just gorgeous. My dads partner drives one and i cant express what a boss car it is....
I'M READY TO START MY SUMMER OFF WITH THE PORTFOLIO 3.0, THANK YOU KYLE.
This car was ahead of its time. 11 years later i still turn around when an XJ passes by me. It’s too beautiful
One more thing. On the stereo, the tone settings, treble, bass, and the "SUB" Is a SUBBWOFFER!! Another WOW!
i really like the way you've been speaking your reviews lately. it sounds much more relaxed, yet even more professional
I saw two of these at the AFB today. One black and then one white like this. Very beautiful car in person.
Just picked up a 2014 XJ L Supercharged yesterday. I am loving this car. I love how much info there is out there so I didnt feel blind buying it
Elmer Escobar you still like it? just curious
Sorry for the late reply! Didn't see this (changing youtube settings now to alert me). LOVING it still. The long wheel base can be a tad more work to park sometimes but with the backup camera it's still very very doable. I've put about 10k on it and it's still a beautiful place to sit every time I drive it. ONLY thing I would complain about Jaguar is costumer service. It's really lacking in comparison to Mercedes which I had before. And btw, I'm 32 so I don't see too many people my age in them lol
@@elmerescobar433 My biggest congratulations to you man!!! At the moment I own a BMW 3 series MY 19 but I plan to change it within 6 years with a hugely depreciated XJ!! Possibly the longest version just like yours!! Is it true that if you want to purchase an XJ, you should get the LWB because in the SWB the rear space is not so big? Thanks a lot
@@davideselvi3906 So after 2-3 years of ownership I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't in good conscious recommend this to anyone. I bought it with 29k on the odometer. When I sold it around 55k it had been to the shop easily 5-6 times. One time I got it back from the dealership, they "fixed the issue", I drove it one day, it exploded coolant everywhere again, sent it back, cost me 1500 to fix. Then it was issue after issue. The last straw was the AC going out right after I got it back and it took 3 weeks to fix, with no loaner from the dealer. The dealership experience is the worst and the car breaking down so much makes you deal with them a lot. As much as I loved it and as stylish as it is, I would never buy a Jaguar again. Do yourself a favor and get a Lexus, you wont regret it
Have a 2006 Vanden Plas with 70K on it. I average 22 mpg and have so far only had to do routine maintenance. Beginning to warm up to the new look..., thanks for ALL your great reviews!
The exhaust note is actually pretty sexy.
i am a jaguar master tech and as yet have not seen this model, but can assure you they are the model to buy. i love the brand
That's a hell of an exhaust sound!
Just rented this car (a 2014 model, black on black with dark brown wood veneer) on a business trip in LA. My thoughts based on a couple days of driving it:
Gorgeous on the outside, but the interior feels insufficiently "special" for a ~$95K car. The materials are nice but unexceptional, but I really like the way the shape of the leather-covered dashboard makes it feel like a much smaller car than it is, but it's not up to the level of the competition (S Class Mercedes, Lexus LS, etc.) Some of the switchgear and the infotainment system feel kind of parts-binny. The stereo sounds phenomenal-- roughly as good in terms of accuracy as the Mark Levinson system in my old Lexus SC 430, but with a bit more low-end punch. Dramatically better than my old Mercedes V12 CL's stereo. Very nice. The car feels under-powered for its class, I think there is a bigger engine available, frankly, this car needs it. (Did I mention this is a huge car?) The seat massagers are on par with the $2-3K massage chairs at a typical Brookstone. If you're spending this kind of money on a big sedan, get a Tesla or an S Class unless you're just in love with the shape of the Jag (which is understandable.)
Joseph Jones a Tesla? You can’t be serious.
No Lexus, you can’t be serious that’s a chromed up Toyota
don't underestimate our Kyle.
he can even review a car that is not made yet.
Im in love with the design of these vehicles
Equus
On the seat controls, the reclining knob, if you pull that up, that's how you raise and lower the power headrest.
that's probably the whole point. he gives everyone an inside look at cars most of us will never get to even TOUCH.
just got mine with 90,000 miles boy it's Nice
Had any problems?
How has it been since? I'm looking to buy a 50k miles one, wanna know if it's worth it
I’ll take one 😍😍😍 the XJ lines are a dream of mine, from the classy XJ8 to this XJ. I want a jaguar so bad
Damn! You are awesome. Glad you uploaded this as I've been wanting to see more of the XJ.
Bro are you still alive rn?
, "Hey everybody how's it going?" I love that!!!
I like the interior. The ivory seats look very nice with the piano black veneer trim on the dash. Between that and the metal accents, it makes the overall interior look very elegent.
You have to be kidding me saabkyle04 . You prepare reviews in such a nice way! Even clock shows 13:37 ^^
13:05 That is one awesome sound system! Sounds very clear!
One of the best looking cars I've ever seen.
You are like one of the few sensible car reviewers IN THE WORLD...keep it up. You make my daydreams of owning one of these more enjoyable in between classes.
The car's design is absoultey gorgeous, No doubt!
I have driven it, it is fantastic!
The narrator's pronunciation is very clear & eaxact
People think the car is Made in India because it is owned by Tata Motors, to all who say that, you are wrong, it is made in Castle Bromwich which is in Birmingham.
The asian market models are actually made in india. so they are not completely wrong.
That’s even worse than India
Castle Bromwich is like Mumbai .... LOL
This is stil sporty opulence, Can't get better then this for a used 25k? You drive your moms car?
I don’t care. Better than the USA.
Beautiful car. Great job as always Kyle, thanks.
Brilliant review !!! Thanks for all the details.
This car is ridiculously classy
The side mirrors on this car dips down when put in reverse so you can see the curb and the position of the wheels easily
Dude jaguar is one of those car company manufactures who have a great ability to merge sports with luxury not only that but this is one of jaguars biggest cars the XJL and see the latest version of 2013 makes it more better...cuz this car is just tooooo good
Just saw the BMW M6 Gran Coupe at the Dallas Auto Show and holy crap!!!! That is a beautiful car.
yep, the old XJ is classic Jaguar. This is nice, but the previous XJ was an icon for the Jaguar brand. It was different to the typical S Class/7 Series and that's what made it stand out.
wow, never heard about this car but jaguar did a great job! just as you kyle!
That is a GORGEOUS car!!
Awesome review man, If possible, can you do the 2010-2013 Scion Xd?
That would be awesome
i dont really like the rear headlights design but the front is beautiful
You mean tail lights?
@@Mc88Flyy People from different countries probably call them that lol.
I hate them too
I've always loved the XJ & this 1 takes the cake...bright white & very nice
This car is fantastic to look at
I love this car 🚗
British cars always have great interiors.
The exhaust note is simply amazing. Basically it comes to prove you don't need a V8 anymore.
I appreciate u doing vids like this. Keep up the good work!
I have the 2011 xj supercharged. I love to this day. I have ppl who drive 7 series bmw's and s class benz come up to compliment on my car by far the sexiest car I ever drove
Beautiful car! If I was in the market for a big executive car, I would definitely choose the Jag over an S-Class or 7-series
Wow. The muffler on that sounds like a tuned up honda civic. And i like the sound of those :)
Amazingly detailed video. Thank you.
saabkyle 04 is really doing a great job. thumb up
between that, may i know what camera you using to film it on your hand ?
I just bought one of this in red fully equiped in the nap i just took!
limits speed, sometimes reduces boost or throttle input, locks out manual shifting, locks the trunk, it depends on the car.
amazing exterior design..very well done Jarguar, but I chose the LS460 2013 because of the reliability
Hmmm....
Any luxury car brand over theses guys
Maybe one of the best cars i´ve ever see!! Beautifull :D
cristian still very beautiful after years
@@carguyns4348 wooow you're right the only thing i would complain it's the front of the car, but still has a lot of class
cristian I love the front of the car
i'm really excited for the XE
It is a type of locking lug nut. You need a key in order to take the wheel off. It is used to stop theft of the rims.
The interior is fantastic! I dont like the display gauges, but everything else looks very classy. (Im German, driving a 1996 XJ ;) )
I was eagerly waiting for this review as next year I'm planning to buy this Car :) Wish me Luck...:D
Very cool looking car, if I were 10 years older or just rich I'd love to have this as my daily driver!
PLEASE do a 2013 Range Rover video! preferably Ivory interior with figured macassar wood options :)
Gorgeous cars. I kinda miss your reviews of the older cars tho lol
nice exhaust note!!!
I preferred the old one, but this one is nice.
sounds and looks amazing!!
I own an S550 and I want to trade it in for another luxury car like the audi s8, Maserati quattroporte, Aston Martin Rapide, or the Jaguar xj supercharged. Which one do you guys think is best ?
Its like a poor man's Mulsanne. So much attention to detail it looks so good.
can the ground clearance be adjusted?
great video as always! i was just wondering r u going to do a videos of the 2012/2013 XF?
your vids are great! can u do the jaguar xk 2007 or 2008 :)
I got one in the garage!
Great review, i have the car and i can say it is amazing
Those headlights are fierce
gorgeous car!
Well done! Can you do a review of the 2013 Audi A8 W12?
The bluetooth microphones are actually ultrasonic sensors for motion detection within the interior for the alarm
I have a 2019 XJL with the 5.0L supercharged V8. It's a final edition with the same colors as this car. I was to be buried in it, it's that's nice.
Great job very thorough Thank you
awesome sounding supercharger.. im so jelous
I worked for that dealership. All the jaguars you see in this video are still there covered in Acid rain spots and never sell.
UpgradeHD I need an explanation PLEASE
90s Jags are beautiful :)
That's 1 interesting car I think I can buy one.
love this car!
This is my dream car, i'll buy it someday :)
They’re 13 to 15 k low mileage so go out and buy one!!!
Mine is gonna look just like this but with all black interior yesssss
I like the hazards sounds :)
thanks for the perfect review
its more than a car !
The first car i've ever dreamt i'll buy it this year, for my birthday... I fell the felling everyday, i choose it and it choose me. It's my car....
Not talking about beauty here. That's always an objective thing. Even though I personally also prefer the looks of the XJ over those of the S-Class.
But talking about the car itself, its technology and especially its luxury, which is what defines cars in this segment, the S-Class is the undisputed king.
One word amazing car
Very comprehensive review
I always do! Also you should put the prices of the cars at the end of the video - Base and as tested.
What does Vallet mode on these fancy cars actually do? I've always wondered. Does it stop them changing settings in the car, or do something cool like limit the speed to 20mph or something?
I like those long rear lights.
Its a fabulous car,but quality is still an issue as interior bits were coming off in a 2013 example at a recent auto show. But still the pick of its class. Saabkyle does good work. These new format videos are better.
well, they wanted to develop their company and add new production cars to the market, like the xj and f-type. But they needed more money for that. So they needed an investment and Tata decided to invest in Jaguar/Landrover
JLR adds great value to the TATA brand world wide.
Awesome review, one comment, even the headrests are electronic, to adjust up or down, just use the controls. One other, minor but classy thing about this car.
