They ran out of tape during the recording. That’s why Ascension Day ends like it does. It was supposed to be a lot longer Other than OK Computer, this is the greatest album of all time Rest in Peace, Mark Hollis
Watching you, or anyone (for the most part), enjoy music I love could never be boring 😄 It's always nice to see another person "get" what you love and hold dear.
One of my favorites! This album still blows my mind to this day. You heard Heaven or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins? I feel like you'd really like that one
mark hollis S/T could be described as the last Talk Talk album, I think Mark spoke about how that was the original plan but someone at the label or a previous member felt it wasn’t right. Another incredible album similar to this would be Bark Psychosis - codename:dustsucker, lee harris who played drums in talk talk plays on it and it feels much like a continuation of the ‘Eden trilogy’
Please react to the Mark Hollis self-titled record - that’s Talk Talk’s vocalist and bandleader. That record was supposedly going to be the last Talk Talk record (and a direct follow-up to Eden and LS, originally titled “Mountains on the Moon”) before the group disbanded and Mark decided to craft it as a solo effort. If you loved this and Eden so much, I’m sure you’ll be enamores with that one too - it is probably my favorite recording ever made. ❤
You should check another great post-rock band - Bark Psychosis (both studio albums - Hex and Codename: Dustsucker), similar to Talk Talk, but also fantastic
Pawn Hearts and Godbluff by Van der Graaf Generator would be cool (very emotive singing, good lyrics) Also Live/Hhai (Kohntark) by Magma (they sing in their own made-up language and are really good, the live album is the best starting point imo) The first song on it, Kohntark, is about a certain Kohntarkosz, "Kohntarkosz is a man who discovers an old Egyptian tomb of an ancient master, murdered before reaching his aim, which was immortality. When he enters the tomb, he has a visioin of Ementeht-Re, and all of his secrets are then revealed to Kohntarkosz." The song is basically one huge build up as he descends into the tomb. The drumming on everything is fantastic
mr consistent back it again with another great video. incredible album. i would like to suggest elliott smith's "either / or". essential folk & singer/songwriter album.
Runeii, to me, feels like God judging the man in the past 5 songs on the album, and forgiving his sins. He feared that he’d enter hell without a doubt, but God sees his will to change, gives him His blessing and deems that he’s paid his dues. It’s such a beautiful ending to an absolutely gorgeous record
dude since you like boc, you should listen to screamadelica. They're not all that similar to boc but it's probably one of the best dance/electronic albums of the 90s, absolute classic genre fusions in there. Also great choice for an album, can't wait to hear more post-rock on this channel. This one's not my personal favourite because some parts im not a huge fan of and i think the album before this one is just a little bit better.
Hey man. Love your album reactions. You should react to "King Krule" one day. He is one of my favorite artists at the moment. The album I recommend by him is "6 Feet Beneath The Moon".
Good video 👍 I would personally recommend: I Didn’t Mean To Haunt You (By Quadeca) It’s a more recent popular concept album about becoming a ghost & it’s great! First half might be a little awkward but it gets better the second half.

That face you do at the beginning of New Grass is how everyone feels when they first hear the beginning of New Grass
Almost impossible to pick a favorite song. But if i have to, it will be New Grass. Cheers.

Other than OK Computer, this is the greatest album of all time
Rest in Peace, Mark Hollis
It cuts off to symbolize the protagonists sudden death which is being hinted at throughout the track and the previous track
OK Computer sucks
@@sneedwashere that's bait
Mr consistent just doesn't miss
It’s in my blood
Check out the Mark Hollis Solo record, it is incredible 😊
Watching you, or anyone (for the most part), enjoy music I love could never be boring 😄 It's always nice to see another person "get" what you love and hold dear.
Thank you. This is my favourite post rock album and you should listen to Mogwai’s album Young Team. Another post Rock classic
been waiting for this one.
One of my favorites! This album still blows my mind to this day.
You heard Heaven or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins? I feel like you'd really like that one
I do love that album
OMG YES I love this album

this is one of my favorites, your reaction matched mine when I first listened to it
Crazy to analyse this wonderful Record after such small exposure...
I feel this reaction, Laughing stock is like my favorite album ever
Coming at us with another great album! I hope Joni Mitchell is only your list and that you will get to her one day (I'd recommend the Hejira album)
Hissing Of Summer Lawns!
You should definitely try Mark Hollis his (only) solo album. It’s even more silent than his last talk talk albums and great vocals.
Glad you are liking talk talk, first band I saw live (1985) they were amazing live, "the colour of spring" is definitely worth checking out 👍
Screamadelica needs to be heard by yourself, it’s a great album. Won the first mercury prize in the UK in 1991
100%
First album that got me properly into music!

After the Floyd is amazing
The sudden end of the second song happend by accident when the studio tape ran out.

Ascension Day ends like that, i remember thniking that my record was broken the first time i played it, years ago. Cheers.
Great review 👍
One of the best albums ever.
the day u review white light from the mouth of infinity by swans is the day i die (of happiness)

imagine if he did soundtracks for the blind
The last track is about his conversation with God after death. The title translates as Laughing Stock! Hollis was a genius.

"Myrrhman" is actually about suicide. "Place my chair at the back room door". Still missing you Mark! 🙏
i think you'd really get into something anticon related
either the 1 Hymie's Basement album, or the self titled cLOUDDEAD album
A rush of blood to the head 🙏
king kruleeeeee
Mr. Consistent better be getting holiday pay for this. 😂
Not w the copyright lol

The greatest swan song album of all-time. That’s right, I said it.
Listen to OK Computer by Radiohead, extremely classic and highly rated album. Bet you’ve heard parts of the song “No Surprises” before
He’s heard all of it before lol
Good video 👍
