- With this year being unseasonably warm, we were able to get out on Lake Simcoe to target Whitefish before closing day. We managed to get my neighbor on his first-ever whitefish and had a couple close encounters with lake trout which were unwilling to commit to our presentations. Now we wait for May opener which is usually when the real fun begins.

Whitie will stay there at opener? Txs
@@muskyman3238 You will find them on mud flats near shoals during opener, they will be suspending a lot more as they will be feeding on mayflies which rise up in the water column from the mud and to the surface to hatch. The whitefish feed on them aggressively. Just scan deep shoals and the area around them and you will find them.
is that a crossover?
Yep its a 1675 crossover xs
@@InformativeAnglingdo you run with down riggers? if so, how have you mounted them?
I have them mounted to canon downrigger pedestals which attach to tracks on both sides
@@InformativeAnglingi have the same set up with the tracks and a backing plate but its still not a very stable. i was always wondering if the RyTec brackets are more stable
good video on the whites too!
I dont do much downrigging, just for salmon on Lake O from time to time. So I cant speak on the specifics of downrigging setups, im more into casting and jigging! I do agree the stability could be better on the plates though, I have noticed that.
Just another BS livescope video. Learn how to fish and maybe Ill watch.
You dont need livescope at all for this type of fishing, my whitefish opener video was just using a flasher. I really don't understand why people get so pressed, maybe they think blaming their failures on lack of livescope will make them feel better? Including livescope footage in my videos is just a way for the audience to get a better idea of what the fish is doing/how they are interacting with my presentation and honestly I could do this blind if I had to. If you're going to shit on livescope then you might as well shit on all electronics.
