Cuenca is famous city for its hanging houses. It´s very impressive and worth seeing it! Cuenca belongs to the province Castilla La Mancha. Of course, it is also the land of Don Quixote
As in many other Spanish cities, one of the most valuable and famous monuments to see in Cuenca is its main temple. The construction of the Cathedral of Santa María and San Julián began in the twelfth century, the time when King Alfonso VIII managed to reconquer Cuenca, which had fallen under Muslim rule.
To enjoy one of the best views of the Hanging Houses, I recommend crossing the San Pablo Bridge. This viaduct was erected in stone back in the sixteenth century, although the one we can see today is made of wood and iron and dates back to 1902. The panoramic view of the Hoz del Huécar and the historic center of Cuenca is really impressive.
