100 Year Old School Reno in Sweden l 2ND YEAR

- čas přidán 12. 09. 2024
- In this video I am showing everything I did the second year after moving in, with some new footage I haven't shown before in my vlogs.
My renovation philosophy is:
- Re-use of materials
- Eco-friendly and natural materials
- Used furniture and decor
- Using craftmanship and building preservation techniques
- Build and renovate for generations to come. not to finish as quickly as possible
- Preserving and bringing back the history of the house
This will become more and more apparent the more you follow along, but this will answer many of previous asked questions of why I don't do something more simple. The list above often answers that ;-)
Who's excited for year three? I am already a few months in and I am currently working on the last room of the guest apartment and have finished the bedroom as you can see in my last vlogs (before the year 1 and 2 summary)
I hope you follow along, it's great to see so many new followers, I love reading all your wonderful comments!
Knowledge 10, Skills 10, Likeability 10, Impressive 10
Thank you 😄
Hi girl! Kudos for you on your skill level. Just one tip if you don't mind. When you do electrical in the walls try to keep 90° angles. So, vertikal line next to ceiling and horizontals to your plugs. It will allow you, future owners and electricians to be able to follow the lines, but also it will allow you to know where wires are on each wall and make it easy for you to hang thing on wall without hitting electricity. As a single mom who renovated apartments alone and interior designer this is only advice I could give now. You are doing a great job.
Great tip, thanks 😁
A rare act of intelligence, discipline and courage!
The amount of patience and mental toughness to undertake these projects... i can only imagine. Thank you for sharing!
I daily have to supress all the constant thoughts reminders of things that needs to get done right away and to focus on today and what I am doing now. But I think I manage it well with a kind of relaxed attitude, but it's not for eceryone, thats for sure :-/ Thank you for the pep comment :-)
I know right? And she does with such style and patience, she like the Every Ready Power Bunny, she goes and goes! Geez I was exhausted after watching her work! Great skills and beautiful work! It all looks so good
Also , WHO said women can’t do what a man can do??!! I beg too differ!!! You Rock Woman
You put most men I know to absolute shame with your skills and can do attitude! The progress you have made is amazing. It’s looking so beautiful ❤️
I’m a man and I can admit that I definitely don’t have the skills to take on such a renovation project of this magnitude, as it’s not every man’s cup of tea)) but hasn’t Moa done well
It is only men who think we cannot do these things, we know we can!
@@aina2165 that’s not true, so get off your high chair 🤨
@@reinerdykeman 😅
@@aina2165I know! I used to be laughed at when I wanted to buy equipment to renovate, pave, tile etc. I am still cranky about it! 😂
you my friend are a warrior.......no short-cuts for you.....thanks for the ride.........
Thank you 😃
My God Moa - is there anything you cannot do? You are incredible! And inspiring!
Haha a great deal. But I am really trying to live up to the saying "Jack of all trades, master of none" 😅 but seriously I have a genuine interest to learn how to do literally everything and I see myself a bit of a collector of skills 😉
With all that soap, you must have the cleanest drains in Sweden. Beautiful, beautiful work. Brava, min kära.
My heart nearly dropped seeing you up on that roof fixing the chimney .
It's really quite wonderful to watch a vlog where the beauty of the "old" is being kept while still using modern and ethical materials. Great work!
Thank you, I am glad other appreciate it 😁
Wauw what you have been doen! Amazing ! 💪🏻👌
I know! That rounded baseboard corner!! Wow
This may be the one time I'm glad I'm old. I'm worn out just watching you but enjoying the watching immensely.
I remember having the same energy as Moa, but that is years ago now 🤣
The curved molding was cool. It's relatively simple but I've never seen it done.
Unbelievably talented ! you tackle any job and end result is amazing so clever and confident!
Reno tip. When re-using trim boards, instead of hammering the nails back through and then pulling, use a pair of pliers and pull them all the way through. This can prevent splintering at the nail head, and less repair work afterwards.
We've renovated houses in several countries. Your work is wonderful and we've admired these longer wrap-up episodes showing your process and progress. Congratulations from one of your happy subscribers.
All I can say is WOW…incredible!!!
And the “translation” of what your cat said to you regarding the rat, was totally correct 😁😂🤗🥰
I am amazed that you are doing the restoration yourself! You are inspiring!
I had the opportunity to rent this room last week. Definitely gorgeous! 🤩❤️Visit Sweden 🇸🇪and rent Moa's apartment , you also support her work.😊
I admire you so very, very much. You are an amazing woman and your knowledge about the reno of a building astounds me.
Wow thank you, I am humbled 😌🙏
Riveting. Absolutely love your sympathetic and attention to detail approach in your work. In admiration of your skill set . I’m from England and so much has been lost in building. It used to be a labour of love. Both my Father and Grandfather (both builders/carpenters) would love your videos if they were still in this physical realm.❤
What impresses me the most isn't the restoration and skill (but that is very impressive!), but to see you take the proper safety precautions when doing the work!
Harness, helmet, mask etc.
Being mindful of the life of the house is important but too many people skip a harness when it literally is the difference between life and death!
(I still have an hour left of this video but I didn't wanna forget to comment this in case there isn't any more parts of you being up on the roof)
You must have the patience of a saint. That chimney would have sent me to Google looking for someone to do it for me 😂
Haha I went down that path first but then I kept googling and found out it seemed pretty simple 🤔 then reality wasn't as in the google pictures 😆
I worked on an old house years ago. It's so rewarding to see the house smile again. I can remember not having any trouble falling asleep. Beautiful Job ❤❤
Already gave the video a like and then wanted to give another when you cursed the chicken and a third for the cat pawprints in the floorpaint and then a fourth for the end result! So beautiful!
Breathtaking repair work!! Especially the roof/chimney/and the curved skirting board. You have such incredible patience and skill.
Thank you 😁 I'm glad you appreciate it. Makes me feel better as I only see how I could have made those two things better.
I am really amazed about the work you're doing on your own!
😮wonderful to watch the renovation and keeping history alive x
Thank you 😁
Amazing. It looks beautiful. Well done. I also feel like doing restorations now. Watching from South Africa, Pretoria. 😄
Yay 🥰
You are an amazing woman. I am so impressed.
Hallway is stunningly beautiful.
Oh WOW……I wouldn’t even know where to start. Your skill set is incredible.
Again, this gave a lovely story feel to all your work. I had forgotten how hard it was to strip the hallway floor. In all things you are meticulous and the results are worth it.
Such trojan work & amazing skill sets - amazing renovation I'm so luving the progress.
Can't wait to watch continuing episodes.
❤❤❤
This is beautiful! Your hard work shows! ❤
Hi Moa, thank you for taking us through this delightful journey of renovation work.
You are doing a monumental job. Your skill sets, patience, artistic vision and unmatched eye for detail is evident. It shows that you live, love and breathe this stuff. You are in your element.
Looking forward to more of your videos! Much love ...
Moa,Your work that you do is well done and you should feel proud of jobs well done .each project you get done as you preserve will all come to an end and can be admired and enjoyed.your such a hard worker I'm very proud of you .hugs❤
Excellent work. You are amazing doing all these things. Us women can.
It's wonderful you saved a part of history, you have a lot of skills good for you
Wow, what a woman ❤ This is so inspiring. I am a huge fan 👍😊🇩🇰
Fabulous work. I love the decor especially the tiles.
Where DO you find the motivation to see these tremendously painstaking projects through ON YOUR OWN?? When you're up on the roof I tremble, when you're lugging wet concrete I wince. But you're an Amazon and I am SO inspired by you! Where, by the way, did you learn all these skills?
Hi from Spain, I’m impressed with your strength and sensitivity, very clever in execution and great results! Muchas gracias por compartirlo.
You’re just freakin awesome!! ❤. Love watching
Phenomenal amount of hard work with great rewards. Cannot imagine how your arms felt after the liming.
GURL, You ROCK!!!!! You're my new favorite SUPER WOMAN!!!!
PROUD OF YOU
I just love your videos. Thanks for sharing all your hard work with us. p.s., seeing the kitty paw prints in your hallway paint gave me a giggle. 😊
You have great guts to climb that roof. I think I will be seriously scared. 😅
Bravo!! I'm impressed, you're a true professional, congratulations. Thanks for sharing your videos.
I just discovered your vlogs and I'm enjoying them very much. Great job! Impressive transformation. Cheers from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. 😀😀
Thank you, I spent a couple of days in Montreal about five years ago. Very beautiful city 🥰
Fabulous work! It looks amazing! ✨🏆 from Lyndall in Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you, I love Australia 😁
@@old_school_moaboa I would love to visit Sweden!🇸🇪
@@bluemoon1033 yes come 😄
The paw prints in the floor paint
I would love to know a bit of your history, as in how you learned how to become wonder woman/person! Seriously though, where you learned all the skills you have. I maybe missing an earlier blog. Keep up the amazing work. You are giving me so many ideas. The lime techniques remind me of the way homes in south west england were done. Putting horse hair in the mix.
I love to paint, but never heard off linsead oilpaint. Looks great to work with 😍
I think it used to be common in most of Europe up until acrylic paint became popular. I've been told that professional painters loved the new paint because it dried faster. So they could finish a job quicker and make more money. It's more of a hassle with these old types 🤷♀️
I'm new to your channel so far I'm really enjoying it
You are AMAZING! Your attention to detail(the curved molding) is a skill that was lost long ago but you are bringing it back. IT is refreshing to see a DIY that actually takes the time to do things right and not take short cuts.
I am glad you say that, I try to think of this as Slown Renovation, mindful and sustainable. My goal is not to earn money on flipping a house, but to do what's right to it and give it what it deserves 😄
Your skills are Amazing, what work you have done 👌
Beautiful work.. just a hint.. when putting drapes up make sure they fall to the floor !!! 😊
Just found this channel and subscribed.
Wohoo welcome 😁
Looking wonderful..
Fantastic! Go girl 😊
you are a trooper!!!! I mean just WOW
I'm sure its going to look amazing! 😊
My husband loves your vlog, as I do. We are very impressed with your skill knowledge and willingness to tackle these difficult projects.
So impressed at the way you are tackling every job, doing it right! That curved baseboard being a case in point, perfect! The entry hall looks beautiful with the light fixture, tiles, antique hall tree, each detail contributing to the overall effect. Really well done 🙂
🙋♀️❤️ Soaping the floor is very interesting. I've never heard of that!
I did one vlog about is (about a year ago) where you get to see more. I also soaped an armoire for the bedroom which turned out pretty great!
You are so very capable, and I love the results you are getting. The hall is beautiful, but those soaped floors . . . WOW!
Thank you, I love the floors so much too 😁
Absolutely gorgeous ! Bravo !
Thank you 😁
What a journey so far. I was scared see you working on the roof - you are a courageous woman.. I enjoid watching. Thank you for sharing💙
Så glad över din noggrannhet, din respekt för hantverket. Verkligen imponerad! Så många som "renoverar" tar genvägar.
I appreciate the long look into the electrical work, from creating the channel (new tools are scary!) to putting the tubes inside the walls. Your skills are amazing! Again thank you for channel. I can better image myself tackling projects from watching you.
Thank you 😀 I have thought it might be boring to show these kind of things but then I thought that I have struggled to find how to do so many things myself so I thought it might me useful to some to see how I did it, even if it's my first time trying it 😁
You are amazing!
Thank you 😀
So inspiring!
Çok becerikli , çok maharetli bir hanımefendisiniz...Genç olsam tanışmak isterdim ciddi olarak🙂

Greetings from Washington State. I'm 70 and remodeled my home as well. I thoroughly enjoy watching these videos. Subscribed and am looking forward to watching the improvements. Bravo!
Thank you for watching and subscribing, I hope you will like what's to come 😁
The hall looks fantastic. I love the golden peach-apricot colour; when first applied it reminded me of Karitane yellow (see Wikipedia definition) but is lovely after drying.
Yes and the evening light in those rooms makes the colour really feel golden 😍
It is really unbelievable! You did this all super !
Thank you 😁
Watch all that sanding you could wear the wood down easily. Great job on everything.😊
Yes I have to be really carful 😬
Great job!

GOOD JOB .
Greetings from Willow Springs in southern Missouri USA in the Heart of the Ozarks. I just discovered and subscribed to your channel today - am impressed by all the skilled and challenging repairs you are taking on mostly by yourself - looking forward to more and more videos as your homestead evolves. BTW, I used to live in Reno Nevada up in the high desert of the Sierras.
Thank you and a warm welcome to my channel 🙂
