    Hi Everyone and Welcome Back To My Bucolic Life Channel. Meet my new sewing tutorial.
    This top is fun because you can express your creativity with trim and fun loopy button loops. It is however quite a low cut little top, but so comfortable that I am willing to wear it anyway :) As usual I have a couple little modifications, but in general it goes together well! I hope you like it!

    That was a clever way to lengthen the top of the bodice, i’ve never seen it done like that before, it was so simple! I also hate it when underbust seams cut through the bust so i tend to avoid patterns with that feature. I’ll definitely give that a try.
    Your top came out beautifully. The cream coloured trim was much nicer than the black, good choice!

    Lovely blouse. I was going to make it and throughout the video told myself I would simply raise the neckline. Thank you for pointing out that you can’t do that on this blouse!! Saved me a lot of frustration 😂

    The top works really well with the skirt. I'm wondering if adding length below the bust and leaving the shoulders as is could keep that plunging neckline a little higher. That would probably mean shortening the front pieces a little. Maybe that won't work and that is why you chose to add at the shoulders. I'm not very good at altering.

    • @mybucoliclife
      @mybucoliclife  Před rokem +2

      It's kind of complicated because of bust placement and the whole strategy of the design of the top has to be at that lower bust area. So not an easy way to raise the neckline without changing the whole of the top unfortunately. At least as far as I can tell. 🤔

    I'm a new subscriber and have come to love your sewing videos. I have this pattern and was hesitant to sew it up because of the plunging neckline. I think I will just add a little bit of fabric to close it up a bit to where I'm comfortable. Thank you! Your blouse came out beautiful!

    Cute top! 👏 The plunging neckline would not do for me, I’m not well enough endowed.😂 Your tank/camisole solution might be just the thing. 😉Great option for coordinating the top with a separate skirt or pants of different colors as needed. Thanks for another clever tutorial. 🎉

  • @judyhansen6237
    @judyhansen6237 Před rokem

    Oh my goodness that top came out so beautiful! 🤩I have that pattern can’t wait to sew it up! I noticed that you lengthened the bodice by cutting at a bigger size at the shoulder. Not that it matters but from one seamstress to another and by personal experience that wouldn’t work for me. as I’m short and narrow in the front and that would lengthen my arm hole etc. It would also create much more cleavage. I would have to make so many other adjustments and fiddle with the sleeve. It would be easier for me to add at the side seam(cut at bigger size) and add to the bottom with slide down method. That would provide me with enough to go around my larger bust without making it have all that cleavage 😅 curious what you think and if it would work better for you as well. I think it will make the bodice dip lower ( as you mentioned about gravity lol 😄)but without making the cleavage appear so much 😅😊❤love your videos

    I dont know much about sewing but instead of adding at the top of the blouse could you have extended the bottom of the bust? Would that have helped with the lunging neckline? Thanks for your tutorial, you were easy to understand and very helpful.

      Unfortunately I don't think t that would work. But this is a tricky one. I have worn it a lot with a little something underneath though. 😁

    I love your make bit when.you.put it on, I wonder if maybe the edge of the sleeves could do with some lace too.. then it would continue from accross your front onto the sleeves, just saying.. x Do you have any makes that someone who.has bat wings could wear over sleeveless dresses etc during summer etc?? Thanks for sharing.
