I have been told that Gabranth can just jump to the top of the stage and use EX Charge freely before spamming Innocence on Feral Chaos from above. While that may work, that sounded boring, so I wanted to find a way to fight mostly on the ground (especially since ground EX Charge is much faster). Lo and behold, while exploring the Labyrinth I found just what I was looking for.
This was more of a test than a show of my prowess, as I don't think I'm that good with Gabranth. In fact, I'm so not used to using him that I even forgot about the Bravery Regen ability until after the match! However, I just completed the Final Strike equipment set today, and have been dying to try it out. It might be the only legitimate thing in this game that boosts both EX and Assist (unless you count First to Victory). As it turns out, the effects are HUGE. I felt like I was playing the first Dissidia game, with the way my EX gauge was building. The equipment set alone gave me the feeling of a full EX accessory setup. I could go from empty to full EX gauge with just 7 Circle of Judgments, without ever using EX Charge at all! It normally takes 13-14 attacks even with Gabranth's Highway Star equipped. With the Final Strike set, EX force absorption felt almost doubled, and the range was enough to absorb everything produced by my attack without even moving.
The full Final Strike equipment set is your reward for making it to the very end of the Labyrinth. The shield, helm, and armor can all be found at the end of the Cloister of Beginnings, but the sword is located on floor 100, just beyond a Feral Chaos boss fight. While its effects are enormously powerful, it does come with a heavy drawback. The sword has stats befitting of a level 100 weapon, but the other pieces all have level 1 stats. In other words, you're a total glass cannon. Prepare to be broken by almost any attack if you have this equipped. Of course, if you've been paying attention to my comments under my videos, you'd know that's just my style. By the way, I equipped Zalera, the Death Seraph as my summon for the very real possibility that Feral Chaos would get 9999 brave from beating on me (he does several thousand brv damage per attack due to my armor).
I chose Tenacious Attacker over Close to You for this fight because I didn't intend to get hit that often. Close to You lets you absorb EX both when attacking or being hit, but Tenacious Attacker only does the former. Since I'm usually the one doing the attacking, it was almost just as good anyway. What's important, though, is that Tenacious Attacker does NOT have any drawback for your assist meter, which puts it above Close to You in my eyes.
As I said, this was more of a test run, and I'm not that great with Gabranth, so I didn't really care about getting hit by Via Dolorosa. At least I wasn't in EX mode when it happened (lousy Feral Chaos's exclusive full EX/Assist drain accessory). Besides, it's Via Dolorosa. Even the best Dissidia players in the world will fall prey to that move, as the DDFF tournament held these past few days showed us all.
It may not have been the right choice to use EXP to Assist over EXP to EX, but that's just a testament to how much I love assists. And by the way, Gilgamesh will always draw either the Excalibur or Excalipoor for his assist attack, with a 50% chance of each. That makes his assist both the strongest and weakest in the game.
I guess Yuna is up next, no? Maybe I'll use her to test out another one of the equipment sets I found in the Labyrinth. - Hry
Gilgamesh: "Let me give you a hand!"
Uses Excalipoor
Gabranth: "Ah, thanks..."
lol
That Excalibur is strong tho.
Jajajajajajaja
You joke, but the Wall Rush of Air-Gilgamesh more than compensates for the low damage since it allows you to true-combo into basically all of Gabranth's kit.
He's doing his best and that's what matters.
So cool at the end where he says "Surrender now to OBLIVION!!!" and kills it.
And God In Fire just gets to the point in the second chorus where it's like "Welcome to the end, TO THE ABYSS!" right at the end too.
Gabranth is definitely one of the most fun characters to use. His moves are just sexy af with his dual blades.
lar ljd what is wrong with you?
apparently loving blade arts is bad :v
The issue is that he is useless without his EX full bar.
@lar ksjsk imagine responding a comment from 4 years ago lmao, get a life
@@Max-lm6pj lol
Gabranth: "That was unexpected."
Me: No, THAT was badass!
It was both
I can't be the only one who finds his EX incredibly badass just for the pose he does at the end of it.
Its amazing.
It’s all the cover art of FF12
I love how God in Fire started at the EX-Burst.
Straight up stole Ferals Chaos theme
LOVE IT WHEN GOD IN FIRE KICKS IN MY FAVORITE TRACK IN FINAL FANTASY HISTORY
I love just how OP Gabranth is. i rushed unlocking him in both Dissidias xD
he is good only when he has his helmet on what faster characters like zidane can beat him while he charges (except if u are fighting ai where it lets u charge in peace most likely)
@@WasteMH funny enough the years would prove that Void makes Gabranth lose to projectile characters if they run Omnidash (which they should)
He needs a nerf
by my sword... know this pain... take your last breath....
surrender now to the oblivion !!
Gab:Take your last breath.
F.C.Excuse me i have still 10000...
Gab:I SAY TAKE YOUR LAST BREATH!!
Song: "Welcome to the eeend!..."
Boss: Dies
Everyone: Nice
2:06 Feral Caos epic fail
The dual blades when your using his bravery attack - cleaving the shit outta Chaos best move.
Gabranth can definwtly be the most fun and strong character to use
This was the first game I played and this guy was my first and forever main, the days man
Proven by the fact that he dies of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except his helmet breaking.
Oh, okay, so the trick to fighting Feral Chaos is to just be unrelenting as hell with your HP attacks... I was being super conservative with my BRV, but this makes it make sense.
***** Or spamming the living hell out of Blasting Zone.
I literally beat him with that sole move.
The Observer I spammed Kuja's Ultima above his head lol :P
I like it when the song "gods on fire" transitions from the first song, its so epic when I first fought feral Chaos, The hairs at the back of my head stood while I was listening to it with my headphones.
Yup, It's The Cantata Mortis & God In Fire Theme
That part near the middle where he bravery broke you was a scary moment.... lol
Watching all these videos makes me regret giving up video games for Lent, but at least I can watch these and prepare.
@evilherojoseph The name of the second song is "God In Fire". In-game you can't play it without the first one, "Cantata Mortis", but there is a version on CZcams that separated both.
I had the greatest Fangasm ever watching this, Gabranth is too fucking hardcore man xD
I just love how pro you are at fighting Feral Chaos with Gabranth :D
Judge of gods, thy accent be Aussie.
it's British. FF finally hired some Shakespearean actors for their series which made FF12 have the best voice acting of all Final Fantasy games ever. Nothing will top it. The anime voices are lame & do not immerse you as much as the British well acted voices do.
@@ElDrHouse2010 he is irish
@@scottdreemurrthegodofcalam8800 gabranth's ffxii vo artist is scottish, so he's still technically right
In Dissidia, Gabranth is voiced by Basch's VA instead of his original VA, so there are cracks in the accent where it can sound a bit odd, but it is supposed to be generic English from what I can tell (speaking as someone with an English accent myself)
Hey Parallaxal! I had such a great time watching your videos, and I've always noticed you always deal a massive amount of damages: I mean, 2568 BRV damage with a single Gabranth (
so is gabranth just godlike? or am i that bad at this fight
Both
ShikoTAG got it thanks
To be honest, he was hard as fck. I need more practice 2 :)
Hes very good character but the godlike one is the player
Gabranth in terms of power, versatility & viability is a top 10 character in this game. There are stronger characters through like clearly Ultimecia, Prishie, Squall or Lightning but in such a small stage who knows Gabranth might be one of the best.
Hay Tread is Wot Droyevs Mii: A Preview
Actually. One time I was practicing how to combo with Prishe, and I put the training ring on with the rest of my normal equipment. I was still hitting critical attacks for around 300, but every other attack dealt 0. I lol'd.
Awesome fight bro, and great ending
One thing I've found, when Feral Chaos does _Lux Magnus,_ I've noticed that any attack will force him to cancel it. *Any* attack, even if it isn't gonna hit him. I've used this to start up attacks that end up hitting him when he cancels because he just drops straight down. Doesn't work if he's high enough but if he's right above you then he won't dodge or block, he'll fall and be vulnerable for the split second.
YOU WILL BE JUST.... A PREVIEW!!!!!!!!
i haven't played this in ages
Well, it makes Feral Chaos stand still in the stage, waiting for you to hit him with an HP attack... That was how I first beat him. At the time I was using an Ex/ Iay build and couldn't dodge his attacks, so I went with the "cheater way"
@KidPanda1000 also the manikin feral chaos exists in the southern lufenia gateway.
I perfected this battle with Gabranth, Squall and Lightning only haha.
Como conseguiste los accesorios?
@Parallaxal
Actually, if you quicksave at the 4th floor, every time you enter the 5th floor, a different assist will be chosen at random. Just keep doing that until you get a good assist. ^^
Sweet! What equipement set did you have?
@KidPanda1000 there are red chests in the confessions of the creator that contain lufenian equipment. but before you can get them you'll have to face a manikin. at some point you will face a green feral chaos. once you've defeated that you are rewarded with something lufenian. the lufenian equipment can really enhance your characters stats. hope this helps.
But we can't do any damage with that ring equipped, can we?
That perfect timing in the end tho
hey the gilgamesh assist fits, add comic relief to gabranth's badassedness
I didn't tried labyrinth too much. Is there good stuff that you can use for the 000 Main Scenario?
Tht bgm with both gods in this fight🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That was pretty amazing in terms of effects, nice for those who don't mind no defense.
can you listed your attack and defense?
and of course feral chaos' attack and defense too.
Freaking epic,
Done and done,
Total victory,
'nough said.
this guy made Gabranth 10x more badass
6:37 "...welcome to the-OH,C'MON!"
Why couldn't the new Dissidia be like this?!?! /sigh
awesome dude
beautiful combos
from now on this is the music i'll use when playing as gabranth
@Parallaxal
cool. I'll try and get to it when I can/when I decide to stop being bull headed and take a chance with the long hallway cloister.
where do i get level gap >30?
Proving once more that the Judge Magister is still on top, not about to be outdone even by an ever-changing battlefield!
Glad to see this request was done.
Remember, children, when Gabranth dons his helmet, people die. The Helmet of Judgment is the source of his power! It can even deflect Meltdowns at pointblank range. O_O
How to have that 255 level feral chaos?
which closter is at the end of the labyrinth?
My favorite character of all times are Tidus, Gabranth, Cloud, Sephiroth, and Jecht.
but it is 50-50 when garland interfere in the mid-dodge... especially it is hp attack, tsunami....
What is the name of the second theme that plays?
Nicolas Villanueva God in fire
wow gabranth looks beast here! chaos looks ...eeerm is beast too! im rly looking forward to buying this game , by the way id like to ask ,whats the name of the second song?
took me 2 hours to cheese Feral Chaos as Cloud, you beat him in 7 minutes. I am sad. :c
Gabranth cheesing with that EX Charge bait.
EX Charge, dodge, attack, repeat.
Cloud is pretty slow thats the problem. Two-handers tend to be like that. In the PS4 Dissidia he is good tho I heard he has super armor frames in his attack animations, where he can't be interrupted while attacking.
I cheesed him with cecil, golbez, and onion knight as those characters had bravery attacka that chained into HP attacks
@@ElDrHouse2010 Dissidia NT is a whole different game, don't get why you compare it to duodecim
That mirrored dodge at 6:10
I so miss this version of Dissidia
epic win
hey can you upload your grabranth ghost data to the web i realy want 2 fight it
Good fight. You had me feeling bad for Feral Chaos
also, that ex force gain is amazing. I have to get it.
Goddamn right that was unexpected HOLY SHIT! Fucking savage
This is why Gabranth is OP
I love how Chaos' summon ended up giving you around 3500 Brave, and left him with just 7. XD
Joshua Walker My mouth dropped to the floor when I saw thst happen. The guy had to time his next HP attack and still keep Feral Chaos' Brave high so that when it swapped, it still played to his advantage.
Hence the that was unexpected
Retribution's blade! You will be judged! I CLEAVE YOU!
everyone does massive damage to feral chaos, hes suppose to be that way
Tht was unexpected indeed didnt knew he could pull it off of all characters._.
This guy could easily cross over into the Star Wars universe. Sounds like a young Earth Malgus.
everybody just need to play cloud with wall rush accessory and you get an easy victory
gear used in this video?
Wouldt he work better with exp to ex force??
+Jansen Perez
no, seeing as you only earn EXP with HP attacks, and gabranth doesn't have any until he's already IN ex mode
Hmmm Good point
+Jansen Perez I have to intrude to point out that due to 000 Feral Chao's inflated level, any EXP gained from him would be a substantial addition to EX, thus letting Gabby stay in EX Mode for longer, but less Assist follow-ups.
Woah
Nice.
I don't get it why did you take Gilgamesh as your assist? There are plenty of other character with great attack (Jecht and Sephie for example), while his are just so random (I see a lot of ExCalipoor in this video).
If you would let the song to play for about 2 more seconds, the video would be soooo much more awesome :D Especially with Gabranth's perfect EX.
Actually I find the ending to be perfect! The song basically ends just as the fight ends. *Perfect!*
@5:05 Imagine if you had Alexander and used it right here XD
I bet Desperado Chaos is the father of Chaos, Total beatdown.
Error, i meant Assist.
Wow you hit like a truck. I wish you were wearing the captain basch fon ronsenburg of dalmasca outfit!
This Was missing in NT
@BohepansTheThird
Indeed it can reflect Meltdowns :p
Gabranth seriously kicked Feral Chaos's butt :o
thats why i fellt stronger when wearing the headphone
@iCheesey Needs to be the highest rated comment for this video.
Dang...Gabranth is a freakin tank!
@KidPanda1000 anytime.
Why exp to assist, why not to ex force?
well this proves one thing
NEVER, EVER MESS WITH A JUDGE!
"Seems it is my turn."
...Is Gabranth watching your channel?
"God of discord, 'tis judgement that is upon you!"
i think you right
What is feral chaos?
Chaos, but turned into a mindless beast (I forgot why though).
Cid, as punishment for defying shinryu/voiding the contract they had, was cast into a separate reality where chaos never lost.
After many cycles of accumulating power from each victory, chaos went mad and started killing everything, friend or foe it did not matter
Cid, fleeing with cosmos, sealed himself with her in a far off place until we, the protagonists seek him out in search of assistance to traverse towards feral chaos
In the meantime, chaos and shinryu actually went on to battle each other. The outcome of the battle is unknown but they seem to have formed a pact by the time we arrive
There is a lot of lore in the text summaries the game gives, definitely worth a look
EX Charge, dodge, attack, repeat.
@Eltimogrande not just like any truck its a monster truck
