Stabicraft Imitators - Everything You Need to Know.

  • 🔥 After 32 years of design evolution in the marine industry, we now have knock off imitators. We've decided to put together an update on our imitators. Since our last video in September 2019 we've bought one and been through it with a fine tooth comb.
We can confirm our imitators do not have our CAD files. Their hulls are wildly different from anything we have produced. They trade solely on surface level imitation. "What we found wasn't just poor quality, but fundamentally these boats are NOT safe." - Paul Adams, Stabicraft Founder.
Feel free to share this video with your boating friends and fishing groups so people are aware these imitation hulls exist, and the risks they pose on and off the water

    Hey Paul,
I'm a pround owner of a 2010, 2050 SuperCab. Great video, letting those imitator "boat makers" have it!
On the bright side you should feel honored that Stabicraft is being imitated (so poorly may I add) it means that your getting noticed in more boat markets!
I think I'm the only Stabicraft owner in Texas (maybe) but boy, does the boat get a lot of attention when I'm out and I do my best to help people understand the benefits and safety that Stabicraft offers.
By the way, when are you going to open a plant in the USA? If you do, open it in Texas! The state has great business programs, we have some of the best welders in the country and build materials could be found locally.
Any way, good seeing ya. Cheers!

And I appreciate the fact that you created a good product that others want to copy. So I would not buy their boat as a matter of principle. Even though I don’t believe what you said in the review.

Great video Paul and I agree with everything you’ve said however you have done yourself no favours with the turn in healing comparison part of the video. It shows 4 people across the cabin of the clone boat showing the poor handling. Next scene shows the superior Stabi same turn in but with two front passengers port and starboard, one just further back middle and remaining forth at rear stern. Clearly better disbursement of the weight resulting in safer turn in etc. Yes the Stabi is superior in every way except cost and you’d be a fool to purchase one but I don’t see why such outstanding companies like Stabicraft need to lower themselves when comparing inferior products. I await your response.

Really good video Paul. Thanks for letting people know about this. One of the reasons I bought a Stabicraft (1650 fisher) was for safety & stability on the great lakes. I have been in 1.5 m chop & it handled it without a problem & that is a 16.5 foot boat. I hear that someone in the U.S. might try to start to make knock offs of it now. I hope not. By the way get ahold of me I have a idea to make a great lakes version of a Stabicraft.

I respect your review and opinion but a few problems I see. This copy is a direct competitor against your own design and company so clearly opinion is going to be fully biased against it. I would have put the review with a professional experienced boat driver rand then get an opinion off them with out having any involvement.
Secondly and obviously you are unable to mention which brand the copy is as I am looking at some boats that are a copy of your hull. Don’t know who’s is the original designer and I am reading very good personal reviews against the copies, so it makes it hard to accept your review… but will consider it when I make the purchase.

A lot of comments on the validity of the test, questioning Stabi vs clone, etc. All that aside, it's still a blatant theft of intellectual property. Being a Stabi owner, long time marine professional, etc, I can say that Stabi is an engineering marvel above all else, including the impeccable build and weld quality of my boat. Imagine the world if the Chinese would put their immense resources and intellect into innovation, instead of imitation. I love the fact that a small island country designs and builds what I think are the best power boats in the world, and China's only game is second-rate knockoff😂 And, to anyone arguing on behalf of the the knockoff, check back when you shit your pants after being in a real sea in that turd. All fun and games, until the shit gets real.

I remember when the 1st imitations were starting to surface. It sent social media into a frenzy, where some people were trying to justify the Chinese build saying, well most of the products we get are made in China from your fridge to your phones to your T.V
And so people were falling for it. But it's clear that boats don't fit that criteria. Just as you wouldn't really invest in a Chinese made vehicle, you would rather go for a Toyota or a European trusted vehicle.

The maths just don't stack up do they, someone in China or the importer is making a lot of money while those that develop and build locally just make a decent living. $70k for something with no resale value and might cost your life if you happen to get caught in a storm plus nothing to be proud of when you have dropped $70k of your hard earned coin. Just doesn't make sense, great video and keep building great boats locally!

I was researching different aluminum boat brands and came across a Chinese made boat called, Gospel Boat, and noticed they made a few boats that looks like boats from Stabicraft and few others. My thought was, did these people copy the other brands or they got licensed to make them? Or maybe copy cats? Well, I ran into this video and now got my answers.

Just found a fake one here in Alaska asking $45,000 U.S. new. we don’t have stabicraft in Alaska so I was interested in it thinking it was a real stabicraft, just under a different name. My family and I thank you for the warning!😥 I will keep looking.

These bad copies are barely good for the waters of a windless lake! In short, it is better to have a good Australian or New Zealand manufacture !!!! I am a French from New Caledonia ... the sea and the boats, we are born on and inside.

These cheap crap immitations come from China - you can see a huuuuuge difference between the 2 running in the water, The Stabi easily runs up on plain, cutting through the water while the immitation is a dead fish getting pushed by a motor which I'm sure is struggling heavily.
Would you take your wife and kids 50 miles off shore in one of those immitations - I. DONT. THINK. SO. - and no, I don't work for Stabi :-)
