For the USB issue, I would solder a locking usb connector from the robot going to your male usb, so serviceability and performance won't be hindered. Also dual motem setups may cause cross talk with each other if they aren't on different bands :/
@@WhatUpTKHere just experimented with google duo (mounted phone on rc truck) and was getting ultra low latency, like ~100ms... Not sure if it works as well on rpi with rpi camera but using an android phone it's amazing

direct solder the wire BUT ALSO split it in the middle and add a good connector so vibrations won't affect it but it's still disconnectable
What kind of latency are you getting with gstreamer? Been playing around with just using Zoom but it seems to be about .25-.5 second lag..
I haven’t been able to get below about 250ms; closer to 500ms in a low signal area and also carrying audio
