    ETFs are one of the best and easiest ways to invest in the stock market. And for investors who want to buy and hold stocks long-term, grow their money passively, and not pay a lot of money in fees, growth ETFs are what you should be investing in.
    Growth ETFs are a category of ETFs that are designed to outperform the market. By adding any of these 6 growth ETFs into your portfolio, I can almost guarantee you that you’ll start to see higher investment returns over time, which means more money in your pockets for your long-term goals.

    Broham...I am SOOOO glad I found your channel! For years I have been pondering about investing but felt it was way too complicated. Got into HODLing crypto back in 2018 but now exploring conventional investments. Your videos pretty much answer most if not all the questions I've had. Especially the first one I saw about how to start investing in ETFs. Sharing with all my friends!

      Thanks Shaniki! Great question - there's about a 56% overlap between VUG and VOO, with the largest overlap in the Financial sector. That's a little over half, so not terrible, especially if you don't mind some portfolio concentration.

    I started listening to this with VBK and I thought, wow this ETF had not done well in the last 6 months or so (VBR has been a much better investment) ... and then you go straight to ARKK. Woof. I don't expect these to do well in 2022 as growth is getting hammered and there is no reason to believe that will change this year. That said, I suppose you could make the case it offers an opportunity over the long term.

    Growth ETFs aren’t “designed to outperform the market” they’re just simply companies with higher PEs relative to their peers. That’s pretty much all growth means in a fund name.
    Value outperforms growth over time!

    • @JoshuaMayo
      @JoshuaMayo  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey MW, thanks for your comment! I phrased it that way to keep it simple. Most people who invest in growth ETFs do with the hopes of realizing above-average returns. But you are right, growth ETFs are simply baskets of faster-growing stocks chosen by specific metrics. In this way, we can say that they are designed (or whatever adjective you'd like to use).
      There was a really interesting study done by Bank of America a few years ago that compared growth vs. value investing. It does a great job of dispelling the general assumption that value stocks "outperform" growth stocks... because there's a secondary factor that most people don't measure... relative returns over an investor’s time horizon, NOT relative returns over the past century.

    • @harrychufan
      @harrychufan Před 2 lety

      @@JoshuaMayo relative prices would indicate that the investors time horizon would have to be pretty short to continue to invest in growth stocks. The P/E disparity between value and growth is as large as it’s ever been
