I understand I should contribute early and often. To have it even more clarified, that means I either buy more shares of the EFTs I already have or I buy different ones to diversify, right? I find it tricky because I’m trying to invest a specific percentage of my income yet the price of shares differ so I’m trying to get the hang of buying at different prices within my monthly percentage.

Volatility in and of itself certainly does not inherently drag down portfolio returns over the long term. Case in point: stocks are TONS more volatile than bonds, yet they would pull a portfolio UP more over the long term. Dollar cost averaging also allows you to play volatility to your advantage. Because the market is volatile you actually get more shares over your lifetime with a volatile market that has the same returns to a given point than a less volatile market.
I bought a share of VTI. What is your opinion on adding VOO to your portfolio if you have VTI? I'm new to investing and read it doesn't make sense because they are too similar.

Yep. It just increases dispersion of outcomes, could be for the better, or the worse. With a large enough dispersion, it’s statistically for the worse.
