True but he was destined to be controversial when he showed his allegiance to Pepsi with his tattoo.
This is imo but I personally feel Punk is one of the best in ring wrestlers period. However as a person he's a cactus personality which isn't surprising considering he comes from Chicago where apparently the people aren't that friendly.

I would like to see Adam do "what if" scenarios, like what if so and s never got injured, what if Seth never turned on the shield what if brawl out never happened I know it all falls under fantasy booking but with a different kind of spin on it
what if Owen Hart never fell at Over the Edge. That would be one i'd love to see. With years left on the clock, great character work and incredible wrestling skill he would have been great against Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guererro, Chris Benoit etc.
@@lilsunny7399 Maybe. But that could definitely spiral into some tragedies that shouldn't probably be rebooked. What if Chris Benoit didn't commit double murder? What if the 3/4 Von Erich's didn't commit suicide? I agree that there are definitely some tails I'd love retelling if said things didn't happen, but they'd probably have to draw a line at wrestler injuries

@@kylejohnson9158 The closest I can think of is the best of 7 format, where the winner is the person or team who is the first to 4 wins, but I don't know if we've ever had an outright situation where a multi fall match is 2 to 1, for example, and then they have a second match and the fall count begins at 2 to 1. I'm not sure that's ever been done but they've done the "match result carries over into a different match" plenty of times.

I want to attach this to my comment and repost of the next Adam books. I believe a good idea for extra patreon content could be:
Adam's Extra Branches, where he'll look into the timeline of events during or around the end of the booking videos, pick another smaller scale story and or feud and give an extra mini booking.
Well when he recorded this it may have been before those happened. So I'd say it's understandable why he omitted them from this booking
@@dominiccarranza2184 oh definitely. That's how it goes for most of his booking videos. Especially with how the Patreon has months of early access I don't doubt it at all. Like he showed in the picture the last image he was aware of was when the BCC backed off when the Elite backed up Adam.
You could conceivably plug in Don’s heel turn when it comes time for the Omega/Ibushi match at Revolution 2024. Either in the buildup to the match or at the event itself.

The only thing I'd change is add Brian Cage and Lance Archer into the CM Punk, MJF, and FTR alliance because Archer and Cage were apart of his "Year of MJF" video and it would be cool if this supergroup held all the gold (CM Punk & FTR as AEW Trios Champions, Brian Cage & Lance Archer as AEW Tag Team Champions, MJF as AEW World Champion).
Adam did a really good job of being respectful to everyone involved in his intro.
I expect there's a lot of us on the fence, it's just the people who are passionate one way or the other are the loudest.
I'm a bit uneasy about Punk coming back, but I hope that things go ok. Time will tell.

I really appreciate the intro to this video and why this is a thought experiment and not in fact a request to the company. These are real people, not characters in a book. Being intrigued by the stories they tell doesn't give fans the right to demand matches that people don't feel comfortable in.
I feel like the 'Loser Leaves Dynamite' Match is too on the nose between Punk and MJF but otherwise yeah. Solid video.

I think this is the first time i feel Adam actually kinda miss. This one felt wishy washy and for CM Punks return wasnt really about Punk.
Can’t lie, this one isn’t hitting. It feels insane to bring Punk back then have him leave for a month then return and say nothing. People are desperate to see him but they’re also kinda sick of waiting and want him on weekly tv.
I think that's the point, tease the fans, make them know what they want is so close yet so far, draw them in with punk and have them wait with baited breath for the moment he comes back

a part I especially love about this booking: because I love my wrestling to be a "universe", Punk emulating Jericho's "get the crowd hype without speaking then leave". An easy way to continue & transfer their feud from WWE, with Jericho accusing Punk of copying him. Now Punk can actually say he did it on purpose this time and give Jericho a sympathetic legend babyface run that helps lead to his eventual retirement.

I love the Punk debut from the Reign of MJF video especially the idea that he's a heel and believes AEW sucks. After the Brawl Out situation you have to either make him a heel or have him do something like an apology on TV. I would prefer him helping MJF retain the AEW championship but I'm interested and certainly will like how Adam does it
Nah, when Tony announced that Collision was gonna debut at the United Center the crowd started chanting CM PUNK with only about a 70:30 to 80:20 ratio of cheers to boos.
I do think there's a decent chance that he'll re-debut at the PPV. Maybe in the 4 way match. Even higher chance that they just wait until Collision though and just copy his Rampage debut where they never truly announce it and his music hits 2 minutes into the show.
I would love to see MJF meet him in the ring and do a repeat of introducing himself, but this time Punk does shake his hand.

@@masonspencer918 Do you remember the Jericho v HBK feud in 2008? Jericho did nothing wrong to start the feud. HBK, the face, did. That's what made it feel justified for Jericho to turn heel: the fans chose HBK over him even when HBK was clearly in the wrong, so Jericho turned his back on the fans. Punk could turn heel the exact same way.
The Crowd would riot if Corny walked on stage to manage those guys. I would absolutely love it.
Really like the idea of a two legged wrestling match but I don’t think it would make the All In crowd happy essentially only watching half a match, but booked right it could be great
As far how naturally charismatic promos go, it's literally Punk then Eddie then MJF.
I am eagerly waiting for a Eddie and MJF program. If they don't go ahead with it, it will such a lost opportunity. Eddie will make MJF cry. Literally.
I’d add Joe to that list too. He deserves one last world title run before he retires like Mark Henry’s Hall of Pain. I hope the rumor of him doing a program with Punk is true. I’d also like to see Joe & Eddie go at it. I hope Eddie gets a big coronation someday.
He just comes off so real & tough. I think a lot of people naturally connect with him. I saw a lot of potential in that Punk feud, especially when the crowd started turning on Punk because of Eddie. I wouldn’t mind him being the one to take down MJF.

I loved punk in wwe, was sad when he left, was excited for his return, disappointed when he went off on aew. I don't love or hate the man, but he is a draw, and I always want to see people do better. If he comes in with a good attitude, puts young talent over, and improves aew, I'll gladly have him back on tv.
I would love it if both the Elite and Punk each tell their side of the Brawl Out story but each version is reenacted by the Dark Side of the Ring people.
The whole CM Punk situation going on right now is heartbreaking to watch as a former fan of his. But watching this video is one way to make the best of a bad situation. Adam, you're a master storyteller. Great job!

Jim agrees that they should work together to make all the money, problem is they won't. I am not sure how it works in AEW but WWE gives bonuses for PPV or they use to, now if this was a thing for AEW I can not imagine why they wouldn't want to make all the money. Even if it is just one match, just think of the buy rate. I would even get it and I can't pay for most things.
Question: AEW are gonna have to split 3 great cards across 3 Big Events (Forbidden Door + All In + All Out), which event should have the biggest card? For me, All In needs to be stacked, considering it’s a stadium show, FD can be spammed with dream matches, but I’m not sure about All Out. Although tbh, bit stupid having it two weeks after All In to begin with.
I have a challenge for Adam:
Can you book Orange Cassidy heel turn, but in a way that makes him one of the biggest heels of AEW?

Though it has not much to do with the original subject, that Intercontinental AEW Championship Challenge gimmick with MJF and Page is a really awesome idea.
I think one thing that could work well and tie this to real life is if Punk and MJF’s faction turns out to be managed by Don Callis. He could have a similar motivation to how it played out for real where in he thinks Kenny was selfish and wants to destroy the Elite.
So basically, you’d swap out Don’s partnership with Takeshita for Punk, FTR, and MJF.

Personally instead of mjf turning on punk, I'd pit cm-pinnacle against the bcc and punk turning on mjf joining the bcc. Mjf then assembles the 4 pillars and it's a AEW vs WWE match (yea also Yuta gets kicked out outta bcc)

If this Somehow actually happened I think it would go down as the best few years for a pro wrestling company Period. The dream matches, the promos, the meta narrative, I could honestly not think of anything better and it would be an understatement to call it a golden era. (Also maybe unpopular opinion but I very much prefer this ending to MJF’s reign of terror then the Cody ending it which to me was really befuddling.)
CM Punk could cut a promo on Chicago on how they cheered MJF over him at All Out last year, and how the crowd was split between himself and the Elite on the Thanksgiving dynamite in Chicago.

i know punk REALLY comes across as the asshole here but in all of his CM related bookings i really think adam misunderstands just how over punk is in a live building. there will be a portion who will cheer for the elite and boo punk but phil’s SO much more over than the elite are. he WILL be cheered

I still think a Blood & Guts match at Wembley would be the best option to really sell it out, and have Punk join the BCC for that match, so it would be: BCC (Punk, Danielson, Moxley, Claudio, & Yuta) vs. Elite (Omega, Bucks, Page, & Ibushi)
As far as for MJF's opponent, have him be challenged by Adam Cole, since Cole's goal is to be world champion, but also work in MJF constantly bringing up his fragility (aka, his concussion)
