    First up this Thursday and Friday the DIG festival will be held at the Harbourview function centre in Newcastle. The event is a 2-Day Masterclass which can show you how to market, automate and grow your business. Speakers include Werner Combrinck from Xero Cloud Accounting, Anna Farthing from Doughheads and James Vidler from the 17.8 million dollar Hunter Innovation Project which will allow the Hunter to become one of Australia's largest digital innovation hubs.     Then on Friday 14th of October the Newcastle Museum will launch the "Humanoid Discovery exhibition` which will feature 25 interactive science exhibits taking visitors on a tour of the human body. The most popular exhibit is expected to be the "Bed of nails" where you can test your nerves as 2000 nails deliver a spine tingling experience.     then on Saturday Relay for life is on at Baddeley Park at Cessnock. The relay is a chance for the Cessnock community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, and to also raise vital funds for the Cancer Council's research and support services.     then on Saturday night Alex Lloyd will be performing at Lizottes [pronounced Lazots] for his national 'ACOUSTICA' album tour. He will breathe new life into his iconic radio hits including `Amazing`, `Coming Home` and Beautiful. Tickets available at newcastle.lizottes.com.au
    Also on Saturday night the `Samaritans Lock Up & Sleep In` will be held at Maitland Jail. Participants are sponsored to be locked up overnight to raise money for the Samaritans post-release services. Tickets are $140 and include a 2 course meal, wine, entertainment and a jail tour.
    and on Sunday at Honeysuckle the NSW Government is hosting the `Gone Fishing Day` which is a celebration of recreational fishing. The event will feature how-to-fish workshops, casting competitions, touch tanks and `Snappy the crab mascot` will make an appearance. Visit the website on your screen.
    And finally on Sunday, Lake Macquarie will host the `color run` for the very first time. %%%%%%%%%% The event is described as the happiest 5km on the planet and will begin at Tulkaba Park, Teralba, at 9am.
