    I'm having a hard time understanding why in the example at 7:10 the #2 is priority over #3. Is it because you would consider that chain to be CH2C(CH3)2 vs CH2CH2CH2? I feel like I understand this stuff well until I get to long carbon chains with multiple substituents or alkene/ynes, then I get lost.

    Does OH have more priority than O or is it the opposite?

      An oxygen will not exist by itself so it depends on what else is there. Meaning, is it a pi bond or ether? Pi bonds count as 2, ether has a C on the O which outranks H on the O in OH

      That works when #4 is back, when it's forward you have to reverse the direction
