      Hi Gouthami, I'm happy to hear you liked my tips! I've been using my "self healing" cutting mat for over 20 years so it's a good investment. It doesn't dull your blade like a wooden plank will over time, but you must ensure your knife stays perpendicular to the mat or else you will cut a hole in it. Sometimes I see cutting mats in dollar stores but they tend to be smaller. I don't see the exact brand I'm using on Amazon, but I found something close to it: amzn.to/2ULsAHS

      Hi LA aka LeighAnn,
      In my blog post, there is a heading called Materials. In the first bullet, you will see the words "inches" and "millimeters" are in blue. Click either of those versions to download the free templates. Here is the blog link again.

      Are you viewing on a computer or on a phone? If on a phone, can you see up/down arrows on the right of the title? For your convenience, here is the link to my blog page: paperzen.blogspot.com/p/quilling-tutorials.html?m=1

      Hi Cecelia i am using an ipad. There is no up or down arrow, only a forward one. When I press this it just gives me the reference points for the segments of the video. But no matter, your blog link worked and I have the email! Thanks so much. You are so kind. I hope you are keeping safe wherever you are💕

      Actually I just found the down arrow, but still only gives reference points to segments. When i click on one of those it just takes the video to that point.

    What should be the GSM of quilling paper

    • @PaperZenCeceliaLouie
      @PaperZenCeceliaLouie  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Vidya, every quiller has their preference, but I would suggest between 105-160 gsm, depending on your project and the size of your project. I personally like to use lighter paper for smaller work for a greeting card, and thicker paper when I'm making wall decor. Here is an FAQ page on my blog: paperzen.blogspot.com/p/quilling-faq.html

    Hi teacher!
    In every video I watch, there are tiny details of many "quick intelligence" products. I use all of them. ...
    Paper cutting does not require the same degree of precision in every quilling work. For example, if you are designing a piece of jewellery, a standard is absolutely required in the width of the paper strips and the number of strips you use is very large, and for this, a machine precision is required and a serial paper strip production is required. however, if you are working on an “on-edge” quilling piece, you will use less paper strips than when designing jewelry, and the standardization of the paper strips may not be that important (within the piece, the small differences are not so obvious.); that's why it's okay to cut the paper strips by hand while you're making these kinds of works, and I think it would be better if you cut them by hand...
    Yes, my dear teacher! Forgive my arrogance for writing the long and unnecessary information above for you. Can I ask my question now?..
    Right now I'm busy making quilling jewelry. And as I said above, I have to produce standard width paper. I think the most suitable solution for this is "rotary" cutter or guillotine cutter. Which model are you using in this video? fiskars/?... What is your advice on this? Brand and model?
    I wish you success in your studies. stay with love. thanks for your helpful.

      I agree Mehmet - precision is needed for specific projects, but not for all. If I didn't have my electric cutter, I would definitely cut by hand using a rotary cutter.
      I've used my Fiskars rotary cutter for 15 years but they don't sell this model anymore. I don't have any experience with any other type because mine continues to work well. I tried looking for a model name on my cutter, but there is no specific model name on it. I think they didn't give it a name so long ago. Have fun hunting!

      When you say electric machine, do you mean Cricut or Silhoutte machines? Or something else?
