Galaxy S24 Ultra 6 Months Later: Still the Android King? 👑

  • It's coming up on six months since I first got my hands on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Samsung's big, boxy beast has been in my rotation of phones for most of the year so far as it's gone through successive software updates, so it's time to sit down and think through how this phone has held up going into the second half of 2024.

A 6-month review should only be handled by someone who has used the phone as a daily driver for the whole time, not just "on and off" or when an update drops.

Do you guys plan on making a comprehensive display analysis of the S24 Ultra like you did with the S23 Ultra? I'd really like to see your input on the grainy display issue the S24 Ultra faces, and I'd also love to see how accurate each of the display modes are.
Great video BTW, XDA is awesome!

Watching this video on my Galaxy Note 10 plus ! It looks new, never fell down and the screen is still bright and 5 goes off screen on time in hardcore mode with CZcams ,Netflix stemming and Social media apps .
Maybe I will upgrade with the S25 Ultra. I tried the Fold 4 but it kept breaking every 6 months. Hopefully the newest phablets will be as durable as my old Note 10+.

  • @andyH_England

My S24U has been up and down in performance and battery life since it was new in February. At the moment, it is up in both, so no complaints. Hopefully, the next update will be a step forward. I would recommend it to any Android user, but I live in the Apple ecosystem, so the iPhone carries my main SIM. I am lucky to have both. I did not intend to upgrade from the S23U as that had been great for a year, but with deals, I was only paying £60, so it was a no-brainer. However, if you are on the S23U you are missing very little with battery and performance and it would be whether you like a flat or curved display.

Pretty sure it's a software issue. My S23U is the same. It's not a physical issue with the battery. You may noticed, the battery stays on 100% for a huge amount of time until starts to count the battery draining. But when it's around 3-5%, it drains faster.

  • @hjb2tube

I agree with your opinions. Actually I'm a little stressed and I explain why: I always used screen protectors, never broke a phone's display. The S24 ultra with the anti-reflective display is amazing but I'm always scared of ruining it with a scratch or even worse breaking it. Samsung's original cases are bulky, heavy, made of hard material and they ruin the phone's design. I am about to receive thin, transparent, soft cases soon. bought at Aliexpress, I wish there was a flip case where the cover would protect when the phone is not in use and unfold 180 degrees and stick to the rear unobtrusively. About the squared edges, I got so used to them that my S20 FE's small rounded corners now seem a little odd and an iPhone's big curved corners seem ugly to me!

  • @hjb2tube
    @hjb2tube Před měsícem +1

As far as I know, there's no way to save AI-generated wallpapers but I found a way to do it. In Accessibility settings, enable the triple tap for zooming the screen. Go to the AI wallpaper generator and when you are in preview and want to save it, triple-tap the screen, zoom it it to fit almost the entire screen and take a screenshot. Then go to gallery, edit the image to remove borders, use AI to fill the missing area.

Samsung is honestly just bland anymore. They have a lot of glitches and they just keep coppying Apple, but I guess thats what happens when you're a huge company you just get used to it and settle and dont care about the people other than the money which is extremely high priced to begin with. Their support team workers suck as well they are very unprofessional and rude. Samsung will eventually drop and go down because of this.

i am not sensitive to pwm but i noticed lot of headaches on my previous s23u when used for long time.
now i shifted to xiaomi 14ultra, my eyes are just relaxed and no more headaches after long usage.
i cannot believe even display of samsung is 8bit which shows more gradient banding when watching movies.

  • @gagandeepsingh8568

I have both the s24 ultra and 15 pro max. The camera on the pro max is leagues ahead. Ios in general is more polished and more colourful compared to android which has very muted colours and not to mention the emojis. Android is definitely better when it comes to sideloading, but that’s about it. Android still lacks native alternatives for apps like FaceTime and imessage. OneUI has tried its best to copy ios as much as it could, not saying it’s a bad thing, it’s just that it copies them horribly. Gor example, take the editing dials in the gallery’s photo editor. If the dial goes from 0-100 with increments of 1, the increments do not really change anything in the photo, the changes come into effects suddenly at random increment. It’s these minor things all over one ui that screams a cheap copy.
I’m still keeping them both but there’s no doubt as to which one is the best smart phone
