    I'm wondering why you have the ground wire on the part and not the hook or hanging rack?

    Nice job & thank you in advance,

    So you can spray on to chrome without worrying about it peeling off/ up later on ?

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  Před 4 lety

      @@eastwoodco odd as I have been told for years it wont adhere properly to chrome proply over time ,but if your company can back this up in writing I'm sold.

      Iwould think you would get a delamination. I'm not a risk taker like that so I'll stick with tried and true. One bad job and your rep is shot!

      I bought this system about a month ago. I’ve been waiting for my oven to come in for 7 weeks now so I can’t test it out. I did however build a collapsible spray booth with filtration and a rolling rack to spray and bake. So yesterday I sprayed a motorcycle case cover with gloss black from PP. The hopper fluidized nice. Good powder flow. Wouldn’t stick at all. Oops. Forgot to turn up the KV. So with a setting of about 7KVs it stuck like crazy. Almost no wasted powder. It was coated in 1-2 minutes and appeared very even. The part was hung to the rack by a 4 inch C hook to a swivel hook. A 10 foot 3/4 inch braided copper ground strap was connected to the rack with a welding clamp and the other end to a 5/8 ground rod 8 feet into the ground. By the attraction of the powder I’d have to say that the ground is everything. I also tried using the supplied ground wire clip with my direct ground. Made no difference. All in all? 1st coats a snap. I can’t do multiples until I get my oven.🤬. Stand by.

      @@eastwoodco my understanding is, when you shoot chrome, you should ALWAYS sandblast with glass media BUT DO NOT blast to the bare metal, all that needs to be blasted is the top layer meaning just scuffing the top layer , and about 10" away from the part , the zinc in the chrome should never be blasted or that will be one expensive project

      Shouldn't do intakes either, they hold a lot of heat in when you do.

    The coating solution for a shed. In the real coaters world, you give paint uniform thickness paint promise; spraying by eye is not acceptable, and that is what you are doing here. Wrong, pal.
