Acadia National Park - Secret Hikes From Bar Harbor Maine

- Acadia National Park is slowly becoming one of the most popular National Parks in the United States. With that comes the crowds that are slowly filling up the hikes with more and more people every year. However, there are still some gems left that most people never think about. In this video come with me as I show you two simple hikes you can do directly from Bar Harbor Maine!
Hike one is a easy walk to the beautiful and secluded Compass Harbor. Only a mile outside of town, this trail is a quick loop through a lovely seaside patch of forest. Eventually opening up to a hidden cove with stunning views of Frenchmans Bay.
The second hike will take us out the back routes of Bar Harbor and off into the Jesup and Hemlock trails of Acadia National Park. Along these trails you will pass through the Great Meadow Wetlands, Acadias largest wetland preserve. Ending in a visit to the Wild Gardens of Acadia and The Tarn. The Tarn is a large fresh water pond that is surrounded by the eastern mounatins of Acadia.

Two great hikes! We saw an owl along the compas harbor trail this June. November in Acadia is awesome. You have the park to yourself!
It was my first time experiencing Acadia in November. I'm usually gone by then. Compass Harbor is my favorite spot to get away from Bar Harbor.
@AdventuresOfATravelingDon we have been on a few November Acadia adventures pre kids. It's a totally different feeling off season. Compas harbor is definitely a gem!
Absolutely loved this video! It's so refreshing to see the less traveled paths of Acadia being highlighted. Compass Harbor sounds like a dreamy escape, especially with its proximity to Bar Harbor. And the Jesup and Hemlock trails - wow, just the thought of wandering through the Great Meadow Wetlands is exhilarating.
It's one of my favorite walks when I have the morning off.

Both of these hikes look great. The acadia national park looks very cool, the autumn season in full affect. The place looks very pleasant to walk around and explore. The bar harbor to main hike look like a great day out.

Yes this is definitely becoming a really popular park. I wish I could've gotten to Acadia National Park before it got too popular. And I just that area is absolutely gorgeous during non-winter months, especially fall.
Go in early May or November and you'll miss the major crowds. Less services would be available but the park itself would still be open.

Fall is the best season to visit the national parks, it reminds me of our Bursa and Yedigoller Turkiye trip. One of the best season to see all colors of nature in single frame, missed your food part. Thanks for taking along

It's the best time of the year
Another great video. Will definitely check out compass harbor this fall when we come up. We've started at the Tarn and hiked the Canon Brook up to Cadillac but never thought of hiking to the Tarn. Might have to try that out as well
It's actually one of my favorite hikes from BH itself.
We have talked about planning a trip to Maine where we mostly focus on Acadia as there is so much to do and see in the area. Fall is a great time to visit when it’s not so warm!
Fall is the perfect season to visit Acadia.
Awesome stuff as always. Like I said before, we almost made it there last summer, but ran out of time on our road trip. Definitely will make it out there again and just spend more time in Maine. Everything looks incredible.
