I love the sound of the old 432s - you never forget it
Same sound as the chieftain.
Iirc they all went through an overhaul/update around 2007/08
What a lovely smile of these crazy Tanker girl.
Always 1 rupert in the capola with a map and no fuckin idea where he is....
I was stationed in Hameln, 1970s-1980s. I was one those you saw driving a 432 around Hameln. Great days, sad to see they are demolishing Linsingen kaserne.
❤❤. VCC v. Gv😊
if anyone wants to know why the equipment look shit its because all the best stuff was in Iraq, i'm impressed they still had the man power and armor to even do a small exercise!
Just loved the 432. Spent 1 morning replacing the tracks on the RSWO's wagon, only to be told after we had finished, that the right track was on back to front. Schmert like.
All of this equipment is part of Royal Signals units. The old bedford with the box body is acutally a ptarmigan switch. The 432's are actually 436's and there is a 439 RR and SAS/MC in there too. By the registration it might be 201 SigSqn 22 Armdbde Hohne
Stephen yes I’d agree with that .... certainly resembles Hohne, but then I was last there in 1986!!
@@nrp0504 201 sigsqn (22 Armd bde) went there in 1990-1991 for a holiday in the iraqi sun... 😂
Stephen fair play mate .... I was in 1 ADSR 81 to 86 but did short stints with 201 & 207 SigSqn. Mostly was in 1 ADSR Rear with 3 Sqn 1 ADSR. Happy days .... loved the 436’s and Ptarmigan when it came out in 84.
@@nrp0504 pay a visit to the FV439 refurbishment page on Facebook
Stephen I would but not on Facebook, sorry.
used to hate 432,only drove one at testing centre, loved the warrior ,was on trials team, lovely wagon, more power than a cvr enginge wise
lots of smoke ,plenty of noise .what more could you want?
The fv432 is a reliable strong workhorse it's had goodness knows what bolted to it in near on 60 years service and still keeps plodding on providing she's had her filters and oils changed
@Ronald Farley Saladin was a armored car
@Ronald Farley APC and armoured car are two completely different things, so before you start being sarcastic gets your fact right
The lady tank driver was cute
I'm curious: Does the British Army has cars with steering wheel on the left only or on the "british" right side too?
Vehicles in my time (66-70) were LH drive or RH drive same with British army vehicles else where in the world.
There are many beautiful places, scenes in Europe. Hope that there would be no war, no fighting so that people could enjoy peace for ever.
hands up, whos hit curbs driving a 432 :)
pimpUK1 .. No, never! It was always the idiot behind me, or my watchers fault!
i think an upgrade is required
Kat kaputt,?
Talk about air pollution never seen so much blue smoke coming out of exhaust pipes.
They were going to a gender reveal party! :-)
Probably shook the old church to it's foundations!
Ganz schöner Qualm. Fahren die UK-Kameraden etwa noch mit Holzgas-Generatoren?
Zweitakter eben^^
looks like it all came out of the scrap yard
Is this colour footage of the Normandy landings???
No, these are farting war elephants just after crossing the alps.
😂😂😂😂
@@chieftainmk12 Rainer, do you make these videos because you like them, or hate them :)
@@tjdiver1961 Because I absolutely love them!
@@chieftainmk12 Rainer, I spent 20+ years working on these and living in them.
You do develop a sort of love for them, but they are smelly and dirty and after 60 years really should be replaced, but imagine the cost of scrapping them all.
1960's technology.
I know there is a "Mk.3" with a new engine, gearbox and driver's controls but I have never been inside one. The obvious change visible from outside is the smaller exhaust, like those in your video of loading on the trains at Sennelager.
Darum gibt's nun dt. Boxer für UK... Cheers
give me a warrior ,with a 30mm or 76mm anyday
Warrior never had a 76mm just the 30mm Rarden with 3 round clips.
I think he means the CVRT, the scorpion had the 76mm and scimitar had 30mm, i guess he meant those.
The MK 2 ,432 was much better than the MK 1, More torque and slightly quicker.
MK.1 sounded better though!
@@PieAndChips maybe, but infinitely more dangerous because they were petrol and personally I'd rather have a bit more speed. I didn't really like the hot exhaust on top either.
ohne nebel
spösel rein wegen funk
those exhaust are a disgrace
Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em. No offense to the British Army but I’ve worked around refuse trucks that are quieter and less smokey.
ziemlich kindische Kommentare hier!!!
the diesel engines are not well maintained in my opinion.
granskare it's the fuel that's poor quality smokes like buggery it's completely different to civi diesel
The RR K60 in those was a multifuel engine, always ran a bit smokey when starting - like most diesel engines from the 1960's until they warm up.
I used the ex army diesel in my land rovers and my fv432 believe
Me it's quite shit army fuel compared to civi diesel
We fill or did fill up in civi garages and use civy fuel (doing it long before I got out in 2007)
, what we used before was the same fuel as farmers and others entitled to tax free fuel - red stained.
Engines were over serviced, due to being done at set times and not mileage, that changed after my unit came back from tour in FRY in the late 90's, lots of problems were solved then (engines could actually run in properly) although it was really done to reduce costs (or thats how we sold it)
chaz8758 when I enter bought ex british military vehicles from the auctions the fuel is like bloody turps or at least smells like I've bought quite a few of them with full fuel tanks is this heating oil or something like it
Look at these Exhaust Gas pollution ,what a shame,as enemy you only need to follow the smoke , need to think about better engine
I'm sorry to say and believe me I'm even more surprised but Belgium's army is far more modern...
How often does it get used?
Dont know... Dont care... ;)
Just so long as it looks good? :D
This was 2004. British army has much better kit. Belgium still uses a single terrain camouflage and the FNC. Still a good army though.
tveirken1 well ok if you use ? But Belgium !!! Don t make me laugh
yeah completely russia
You should be able to smell these Limeys before you can see 'em.
Ahhhh.... germanys Occupationforces :D
--> Friedensvertrag --> Verfassung...!!! Deutsche Souveränität! Guten Tag!
Sie sind ja bald weg...
Bullshit, lieber Michael Horn.
(Winston Churchill)
what did germany really do to deserve this.
Oradour-sur-Glane... and many, many more atrocities.
hope this junk is now in the scrap yard all our politicians should be forced to watch this. what an embarrassment
It all worked, The FEPS gen sets were brand new, the Bedford MK's were replaced starting in 2007, same with some of the Dafs. The FV 432 Mk 2's have been upgraded to FV 432 Mk 3's.
It looks tatty but that does not mean much, I took my shiney new painted 432 out on scheme and in a day it would be covered in mud, never mind all the kit I had hanging off the outside.
This looks like a Sigs unit so dont need the latest and greatest armoured vehicles.
They are not 432s but the signals version fv439s, used by the Royal Signals.
Most looked like the 436 with a couple of 439's (which covers a whole range of variants really), probably a Bde HQ as opposed to a pure sigs unit.
