I want tell why pushpa did very well in Hindi heartland because allu previous movies are biggest satelite hit in Hindi heartland on CZcams. I am from north India and I following alllu arjuns film for more than 10 yrs.
This people just didn't know how big allu arjuns stardom in Hindi belt he is very charismatic u can't be bored watching him.
And another reason why telgu cinema does good is because there films are more family oriented they know what larger portion of audience want and there films are rooted in indian culture and values, on the other hand Bollywood most of the time feel like western to indian audience that's why they didn't connect to Bollywood so much.
Tollywood films are mostly joint family oriented that's why people love it...

Mam Telangana+Andhrapradesh states have only one Film industry called as Telugu film industry/Tollywood after 2013 Telangana state splitted from Andhra Pradesh but people in both States speak same language Telugu and same food, culture and Tollywood headquarters located in Telangana😊

Almost every state in India has it's own language, culture and cuisines. So basically each state is different with it's own identity. That is the reason in India, specially South India has their own movie industries.

You guys would love Rangasthalam. It is a sort of spiritual precursor to Pushpa, and the director is the same but stars Ram Charan in arguably his best performance. The title means stage, so it is in essence like a stage play about caste politics but told through the perspective of an eccentric partially deaf character. Please react to the teaser as a group.

Telugu industry USP is big budget commercial entertainers... they spend Huge budgets on the songs, locations, VFX.. they perfected the commercial genre.. Telugu industry Never makes Films Only for awards like some industries in inda.. That's why Telugu industry grown leaps nd bounds to pan Indian level..

As a malayali am so proud of our film industry .. That's not mean i don't like other indian film industry.. Yes i can understand we are one but we are different😊
Comercial films in India mean there is a specific format which Indian films follow in order to make it a hit. Pushpa film broke the format in its making. These kind of films may or may not become successful. Its a risk/reward kind of a movie.
But post covid, the meaning of commercial films is changing as the audience seeks more innovation in any of the aspects of movie making.

ALso every industry has their own specialty as u said but the only reason they make those because their audience love those in their region..... If those industries wanna make other genre movies then its their choice and they dont have to ask permission or something like that.... cause no one owns any genre.... It's just movie makers makes those movies which audience enjoy more and they get more Box office collections more...
So the director of PUSHPA and RANGASTHALAM is Mr. Sukumar and he made a THriller movie with Mahesh Babu who is a biggie in Telugu movie industry and that movie is known as 1 Nenokkadine which means One Iam all Alone
And that movie was soooo good that people did not understand it but it is not something like mind bending NOLAN movie... It's just a thrilller movie and people did not showed interest in that movie and it was a flop but now people call it as under rated ( i seriously wanna smack those people who did not watched the movie back then and later watched it on OTT or on TV and call it as a under rated)
The only reason people did not watched the movie is because of the ratings and mouth talk of the audience... They were super dumb and movie got flop (Also the other reason is that there was Ram Charans and Allu Arjun combo movie which was of Mass Genre (Mass means opposite to classy thing in India and also it is obviously known as MAssive as well) That movie was YEVADU which means WHO
People wanted to watch those 2 together and skipped this 1 Nenokkadine just because of the mouth talk..... It is my all time fav Psychological Thriller movie

Rima maybe you can explain to your friends about the difference between the bollywood (hindi) film industry and regional language industries. For the longest time regional films have been small productions made for only their state often led and continued by the same powerful families, and tbh the Tollywood industry and stuff were mocked by indians for weird looking actors, over the top cringe action and creepy undertones catering to mainly men. All of a sudden ppl decided to hate on bollywood and hype up even cringe movies if they are regional. Allu Arjun was not a known actor across India, but mainly by the regional industry audience. They really should discover indian cinema through recent bollywood/hindi content. They will love that much more.
