Looking at that car really makes me miss the good old days where carmaker makes every possible variant from a single chassis. A sedan, coupe, 2/4 door hatchback/wagon, sometimes even ute like datsun did in 70s. I wonder why carmakers stopped doing that after 2000. Imagine a modern civic with such variants
Videos like this keep me motivated to keep working on my e46 325Ci. Because I persisted even after everyone saying I should sell it (I prob should) it has newly rebuild engine, new steering rack, new cooling system, new rear end bushings, new wheel bearings, rust is repaired and is nowhere to be found and suspension rebuild is incoming. It's coming so close to the point that the number on the odometer dosen't matter anymore since so much has been replaced. Thanks to you, and creators like you I have such a cool car (and am broke lol)
just one more E36 bro. i promise bro just one more E36 and it'll fix everything bro. bro... just one more E36. please just one more. one more E36 and we can fix this whole problem bro. bro c'mon just give me one more E36 i promise bro. bro bro please i just need one more E36
I own a mint shape 1998 318Ti. Mint shape, M Package: powered, brake cooling ductwork front brakes, Formula Mirrors (rare). Auto, zero rust. Owned since 2014. Hellrot Red
My e30 has an entire 318ti trailing arm assembly in it for a 5-lug conversion. Front e36 M3 struts, control arms, uprights, and brakes. What a pain to buy parts for lol. If you guys haven't talked to Rand at Quattro Season in Bellingham yet he's the master of old BMWs and has a pretty good stockpile of parts. The plastic clips that hold the door cards and interior trim pieces together on these old cars get so fragile, I have a pile of them for my e30 in a box somewhere.
That E36 has as many miles as my sisters 04 accord at the time of purchase. She only needed rotors and pads because the previous owner left the car sitting outside for 3 years and a timing chain for her k24 for obv reasons. 💀
I would check to see if the profile gasket has been redone. These m42 engines had a recall on them, I had a 1993 e36 318iS back in '09 and it ended up blowing on me and of course since you have to remove the cylinder head to replace it I had to redo the whole head gasket and get the head machined and rebuilt. It was one of the biggest pain in the ass repairs, if the car wasn't free I probably wouldn't have bothered. These 318Tis are a pretty rare chassis though. The M42/44 came with adjustable cam sprockets from the factory, so you can adjust your powerband a little bit.

I really hope they bring stuff like this back, the variants all have their own charm

I've always wanted one of these with a small turbo on it. I've had a few e36's & e34
I’m like this but with Hondas I keep buying them. My family thinks I’m crazy but you make me feel a little more sane
hard to pass up a good honda
I have one of those and the rust is a hard on these
First mod: peel off that bumper sticker
weight reduction
Even you guys said this 318ti is old but the motor is bulletproof. I have one and replace almost every plastic brittle hoses. I have the m44 motor.

Did you get another Spec B? I noticed the brick red seats and the door panels..
The front under leakage is the valve cover. Mine is spotless since I replace all gasket.
